• Using a MIDI keyboard as dedicated shortcut buttons?

Yeah, so I have a small MIDI keyboard I don't use that much, it would be cool if I could use it as some kind of shortcut keyboard for all kinds of things...
MIDI does not work that way.
Oh well then...
One could write a program to receive the MIDI data and send out key stroke or launch applications. Maybe even such a program exists. Heh, you could automate a computer using the output from a Sequencer.
Yeah, that's what I thought...

Or stuff like answering skype calls and stuff. That would be really useful for when you're playing a game and someone calls.
You can make a GlovePIE script to do that. For example, I just made a quick one where A5 = V
Key.v = midi1.a5
Tested with my RB3 keyboard using Midi to USB and it works well.
Interesting
There's things like the Nostromo N52 which can have the buttons programmed for keystrokes and macros. They are pretty cheap now too.
