Galaxy S III beats out iPhone 4S as top selling device in US
The overwhelming success of Apple’s iPhone 4S has finally hit a lull. Since its launch last October, the device has managed to hold on to the title of top selling device in the United States for 10 months before finally being dethroned by the Samsung Galaxy S III last month.
According to analyst Michael Walkley of Canaccord Genuity, monthly channel checks have confirmed that the Galaxy S III is the top selling device at T-Mobile (who doesn’t carry the iPhone 4S), Sprint and Verizon. The iPhone remained the number one device at AT&T, but the S III’s success at the other three largest carriers in the nation is enough to secure the number one spot.
The S III wasn’t the only Android device to do well, it’s worth noting that the number two top selling device at Verizon was the Droid RAZR MAXX, and every carrier that sells an HTC One series device has it in their top three.
Now that the Galaxy S III has become the top selling device in the nation, can it hold on? Apple, Motorola, HTC, LG, Nokia and even Samsung have new devices slated to hit the market before the end of the year. Still, I’d venture to guess the S III is more than capable of keeping up with whatever hits shelves by the holiday season.

I hope Galaxy S IV won't look like a pebble.
And then iPhone 5 comes out.
I'm quite happy with my Galaxy S3.
I was happy with mine until i smashed the screen :(
I got my first android about a week ago, which happened to be a galaxy s3, so I have nothing to compare it to :v:
I don't know if I should be impressed or disappointed

get a new screen?
Surely this is because the new iphone is about to come out. Of course sales of the current generation will fall off with a new model around the corner, you'd have to be a moron to buy one now.
Screens are easy to replace and are quite cheap, often people think they broke the sreen but it's just the digitizer(touchscreen on top) that's broken, I've had mine broke on my ZTE Blade and fixed it for £15 and I then got a new phone from a friend that needed a replacement which I also got for £15
I still have my Galaxy S2, which is superior to the Iphone 4S too :v:
Oh oh! You know what that means...
Apple's lawyers are gonna try to find some bullshit to try and ban it :v:
I'm getting my S3 on Saturday.
It's not surprising. With the iPhone's refresh coming soon and the 4s being out for a year, there's no surprise that a newer device takes the throne.
I recently got my first Android phone about 2 weeks ago.
It's certainly not the "holyshitomg" experience that everyone makes it out to be. The phone itself is very nice, I like it quite a lot. The OS on the other hand, I have a huge list of issues with.
I tried to take it back but I was late by about 3 days for the phone-exchange.
What phone was it? My new One X is perfect other than battery life.

They're way ahead of you.
The courts just currently still have some USEFUL business to take care of first.
Galaxy SII Skyrocket 4 lyf3!!!
And there are those of us with iPhone 4's who are eagerly awaiting a hopefully not terrible iPhone 5
I have one of those Samsung phones too, I have a Samsung C60.
I'm waiting on the Galaxy Note 2.
New product A outsells old product B, WORLD NEWS

It's certainly news for bandwagoners.
If this was "iPhone 5 outsells Galaxy SIII" the OP would be bombarded with dumbs.
Oh wow surprise surprise. An older phone that is just ahead of a refresh is getting outsold by the flagship of their biggest competitor, after who knows how long being ahead of it.
I'm waiting on the Galaxy Note 2.
Same here. My dad has a Note, and while using it for 2-3 months every other phone looks tiny to me.
Well that's weird cuz I'm the only person i know with an s3, well except one dude but still

I think thats because its expected to see a new iPhone outsell any other phone on the market cause its more of a fashion thing to a lot of people, over here you can already preorder the new iphone while noone even knows whats inside of it or what it actually looks like..
it this all sales or just this month? its actually impressive if just 1 model Android phone can outsell the iPhone if this is all the sales since launch

I'd get it (if it's good) but I fear since I already have a contract on my Galaxy Nexus, I'd have to buy the $700 phone to activate it. My sister has been wanting a smartphone but I don't think my dad would want a third smartphone monthly bill, and besides, I got the contract when Verizon did 4GB a month instead of 2GB for Christmas. Of course I don't really need it, but I want it :v:

Uh.. of course? A lot of us don't like Apple, I actually think the iPhone is a fine phone though I think the OS is pretty dated.
It is really is a good phone i have it.
I have the Galaxy S3
/smug
I'm planning to buy one in a couple of weeks.

The OS isn't dated at all, what are you talking about?
