DETROIT — Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee Jr. says the department has suspended some of the 17 officers he says left work early in what may have been an illegal strike.
The incident happened during an afternoon shift in the department's Northeastern District on Friday, two days after Mayor Dave Bing proposed a 10 percent pay cut for police and firefighters.
A woman who answered the phone at the Detroit Police Officers Association said the union wasn't commenting Monday night.
Godbee said Monday that an internal investigation concluded that 17 officers left work without completing their shifts. He says an investigation is under way into whether the officers broke state law by striking.
Godbee at first issued a statement saying all 17 officers were suspended but later said "a number" were suspended.
I hear the D-Row Ballers are looking for new members.
You do not fuck with the pay of police officers in Detroit. with the shit they have to deal up with in that fucking city, they deserve a raise out of all things.
Mayor ought to take a pay cut.

I kinda have to agree with that, shit gets funky here and fucking with the police isn't helping at fucking all.
one time 80% of my local police force did this.
2 banks were robbed that day and they got away with it :v:
Its a shame, Police Officers have a wide range of duties and really can get stuck dealing with anything.
Cutting their pay is not the way to do thing, specially a towards Detroit cop.

Cutting public service salary is a bad idea (Police, EMS, Fire)
How about we cut the pay to the politicians who are already wealthy enough to begin with rather then cut pay to the emergency services personal who hardly get payed anything to begin with.

I think he means since the police were on strike, nobody responded to the robbery calls.
ROBOCOP
