• Crazy Taxi in Source SDK?

I'm kind of working on a Source port of Crazy Taxi and I was wondering if any of you were interested. I'm deciding to make this my first REAL Source mod, although I've already made a few mods but this one is probably gonna be my first complete mod with full detail. If you want to contribute to this mod, I can post the mod files to GitHub. I've already added a few things like the menu sounds. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/229478/a9053f21-2d1b-440e-8615-1404ae1f4f25/crazytaxipreview.png
Seems a good idea anyway, I hope it won't die soon after that started,
Is there a game yet?
What do you mean?
Kinda, I'm also adding an FGD for Hammer and the sound txt thingies.
I can probably make the maps, everybody else can work on stuff like the models, EXE or client (VS project), animations, etc. What I'm thinking for the NPCs is there will be a trigger at all the places people want to be dropped off to in the game.
HL2 already has a vehicle as well, so no need to really mess up player physics or something.
I never played Crazy Taxi, but I would be interesting to see a mod that isn't FPS.
I got excited then realized it's just a main menu
That's because I just made the mod and I'm working on the gameplay now. Also already extracted all sounds and textures.
I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO COMPILE A HL2 DLL CORRECTLY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE! YES
Are models will be ported or remaked anyway? New models would looks more fresh in Source rather ripping the old ones.
nah, keep it classic
Again, if you want to contribute to this, just say so.
Posting here suggests that you are actually going to program this. If you can only contribute maps, I suggest using the Mapping section instead, or go to an external site like ModDB to recruit people for your mod.
Making this mod can also create a potential to build your own maps or get creative with what's available in the game.
You sound young so I'll just give you a tip - this is obviously too ambitious of a project for your skill level. Start smaller, and do stuff that you can do on your own. You're not going to recruit anybody at this point, sorry. It's better for you to learn how to do these things yourself anyway.
How did you extract the textures? I've been looking high and low for a way to extract the textures for a buddy of mine so he could put it in his silly Crazy Taxi mod https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN3vo4pEUsE
Bizzare idea, good one though.
