The furor that kicked up two weeks ago over Call of Duty: Ghosts' native resolution on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One appears to have gotten its sequel. With reviews of the Xbox One version trickling in today, some are saying the Xbox One does not suffer the framerate drops that were reported in the PS4 version.
Apparently both consoles should be running at 720p. I'm pretty sure this is a developer thing, not a console thing.

Why is everyone having giant flamewars over fucking framerate? Something barely visible to the human eye shouldn't be the make or break factor to a game or console. Ghosts is considered a bad game, and having a better framerate won't fix the game.
Something barely visible to the human eye
"the human eye can't see past 24 frames per second" this is how much of an idiot you are right now

When your reflexes get fucked with because of drops in FPS then yes it does "MAKE or BREAK" the game.
Because neogaf is reliable.
How about instead of being a gimmick you google the issue for 5 seconds and see that THE DEVELOPER CONFIRMED THAT IT'S 720P on X1 and 1080P ON PS4
All shitty journalism aside, 1080p is almost 2.4 times the resolution of 720p - while the PS4 has 50% more computer units than the Xbone, that's only a 1.5x increase. There's of course memory bandwidth to account for and resources taken up by the OS and other services (especially in the case of the Xbone), but all in all, it's very likely that the PS4 won't perform that much better than the Xbone. It'll do 1080p, but don't fault it if it drops below 60FPS in a few places. Or maybe the game is actually just incredibly memory bandwidth intensive and therefore it runs that much better on the PS4. It's not entirely unthinkable, just unlikely.

I never said it wasn't.. basically they tried to make it 1080 on the ps4 even though it can't handle it.

Maybe it's a bit more consistent on the Xbone, but you just get consistently worse visuals as well?

It appears much smoother and you can react quicker since its smoother. But when you're on a console, everyone is getting the same fps so really it doesn't matter what its at since everyone is at the same playing field. Fps really only makes a difference to your ability to react on a PC where every player can have a range of fps from 10-100+. if the game can sit at 30 fps and stay there then thats great, if it can sit at 60 fps then even better. But it really does not matter you will only really notice the fps if it can not stay at x fps. Article says the xbox ran ghosts at 720p upscaled to 1080p to keep a steady 60fps, while the ps4 ran at 1080p.

While ZachPL is almost at troll levels of ignorance he did (barely) acknowledge in the OP, that the PS4 was running 1080p.
Also Zach lol try reading the article you posted "GiantBomb's Jeff Gerstmann today wrote that the Xbox One has a smoother frame rate, but called the difference between the two versions "a toss up," saying that he'd rather play the game on a Dual Shock 4." Sure it's not anything objective but lol you posted that article because of sensationalism and not because you actually bother to read.
So the consoles of this gen might struggle at 1080p I need PC gaming because

It has nothing to do with gameplay.
So he rather would use a dual shock 4, how does that change anything? It has nothing to do with gameplay.
it means he'd still rather have the ps4 one over the X1 irrespective of the FPS drops. Ergo, the fps drops aren't noticeable enough to actually bother writing about unless you want to be a sensationalist dickwad looking to troll a forum with your X1 elitism.
Aaand then, some patches later, the framerate is the same on both consoles. Bam.
