According to the GPD report, Brockington “admitted to talking to the (victim) about going to school and patting her head and back. The (defendant) did not admit to touching the (victim’s) buttock. The (defendant) stated before this interaction he has never spoken to the (victim).”
A witness told police she thought the girl was intimidated by the man who approached her, and the witness shouted for him to leave her alone, police said.
GPD spokeswoman Cpl. Angelina Valuri said police were called to respond to an argument after the witness approached Brockington later to confront him about the incident.
Brockington was being held Tuesday at the Alachua County jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.
