Firefighters were alerted to the blaze on a London Duck just before midday on Sunday and a fire boat was dispatched. Many of the 28 passengers on board the vehicle jumped into the Thames to escape the flames and were rescued by police, the fire brigade and a passing boat. A spokesman for the Metropolitan police said all the passengers and both crew members had been accounted for, while the London ambulance service said seven people were being treated for smoke inhalation and one woman had been taken to hospital with minor injuries. In a tweet, it added that most of those being treated at the scene were wet and cold after spending 10 minutes in the water.
http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/sep/29/duck-boat-passengers-rescued-fire-thames Poor tourists
Damn, I hope they don't get cholera.
Ewww, I think I'd prefer to try my luck with the flaming boat.
They ought to get rid of these stupid things. Don't they sink all the time too?
For a minute I confused the Thames with the Ganges, the river in India where they throw dead people. THAT would be unfortunate.
I hope the boat is recoverable, those things are fucking historic.

I Mistook it for Flames instead of Thames.
Isn't the Thames dirty as shit? Or am I thinking of another river
Isn't the Thames dirty as shit? Or am I thinking of another river
Thames is extremely dirty, its advised not to swim in it because of the sheer gunk floating around.
I guess the survivors will need a quack to help them.
I guess the survivors will need a quack to help them.
you're terrible and you should feel terrible
wasnt the thames a LOT worse than it is now? or am i confusing it with another river
wasnt the thames a LOT worse than it is now? or am i confusing it with another river
It used to be a lot worse, but it's still not safe to swim in. These people should be fine as long as they didn't swallow any water. I've rowed on the Thames for years, and must have been splashed with gallons of river water in my eyes, mouth and nose, and never became ill from it. The only issue is when you swallow mouthfulls of it http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/thames-health-warning-issued-after-300-swimmers-taken-ill-8637101.html
In a tweet, it added that most of those being treated at the scene were wet and cold after spending 10 minutes in the water.
BREAKING NEWS! GOING IN COLD WATER MAKES YOU WET AND COLD!!!!
I think I'd rather go down with the boat than jump into Thames water
"Through the Fire and the Thames" contact me next time you need a title ok But yeah, good thing no one died or was seriously hurt.
Never understood why they made the Olympic athletes swim through the Thames. It's (literally) seen a lot of shit in its time, and it's been exposed to the massive pollution of industrialism for longer than basically any other. In conclusion: gross.
