Aug. 19--The stress of shooting someone in the line of duty was enough to put Penn Hills police Officer Duane Yenchik in the hospital. Yenchik, 61, fatally shot Anthony Watts, 32, of Penn Hills in 1996 when Watts approached him with a machete after Watts attacked his mother and sister with the weapon. Yenchik, who has asthma and had bronchitis at the time, said he went into respiratory arrest in the moments that followed the shooting and woke up in the hospital. "It's a very stressful thing," said Yenchik, who had been a paramedic. "I had delivered three babies, and then all of a sudden, I had to take a life."
Source
Whoa, who could've guessed? I always thought they felt great after taking somebodys life.
i'm gonna be that guy and say it clearly didn't do anything to the guy who shot mike brown or any of those other people
i'm gonna be that guy and say it clearly didn't do anything to the guy who shot mike brown or any of those other people
Stressful events can and do affect different people in different ways. Each individual will have subtly differing (or in a lot of cases grossly differing) reactions to similar situations.
has asthma and had bronchitis at the time
Well, I guess this played a big part as well
I'd probably pass out even after shooting someone who killed a hospital of orphans.
i'm gonna be that guy and say it clearly didn't do anything to the guy who shot mike brown or any of those other people
How do you know
i'm gonna be that guy and say it clearly didn't do anything to the guy who shot mike brown or any of those other people
We know little to nothing of what happened to the officer, stop trying to demonize him for the sake of your fucking crusade. [editline]25th August 2014[/editline] Christ this dehumanizing of the guy is just pretty disgusting when you people know nothing about him.
i'm gonna be that guy and say it clearly didn't do anything to the guy who shot mike brown or any of those other people
How can you say that? It forced him into hiding and brought the wrath of the populace against him before any process of law. He is guilty until proven innocent. Hysteria subverted the justice system. For all we know it could have hurt him terribly. He may lie awake every night regretting it. We may never know, until he is forced into the limelight. Don't judge when you barely know anything.
i'm gonna be that guy and say it clearly didn't do anything to the guy who shot mike brown or any of those other people
Then you're going to take the fall for being that guy.
