Vertical line of dead pixels going down laptop screen, any fixes?

I've been having this issue with my laptop for a couple weeks now where there's a line of dead pixels going vertically down on the right side of my screen. Is there any fix to this that doesn't cost a lot/needs to be replaced?

Though unlikely, first rule out GPU/Software just in case - connect an external display.

Sometimes this can be the cable that goes through the hinge - it's very susceptible to wear, or maybe its just come a little loose.
Any physical damage? Been dropped? Hit? Lid slammed? The LCD may need replacing.

Regarding dropping/hitting/slamming I can't recall doing any of those.

I'll try connecting an external display to the laptop though.

If it's a single pixel stripe, it's most likely the screen.

Ok the line is gone now for some reason. Weird

Sounds like a loose connection in the flex cable, then.
