Everybody hates NK, so if they start war (technically, we're still in war with them as the Korean war never officially ended), they will get their asses handed to them with nobody to back them up.

Exactly. Back then before WW2, the world's countries weren't keeping a close enough eye on Germany, especially America for letting the league of nations down, and they were in economic turmoil. Today, everone is watching NK, even though we are in economic stress and one of our countries is on the verge of collapse. We've learned from history.

Wrong wrong wrong. "Appeasement." They knew what was going on and what their attempt at fixing it did not work. Also the problem back then was the whole idea of everyone in Europe having "shoot-anyone-who-shoots-you" alliances during violent times. America's absence from the league of nations had little effect on what was a [i]world[/i] war. Nowadays the problem with NK is that we're not sure whether China would support them. The way it seems now is that if war were to break out in Korea again, it'd either be the whole world against NK, or the whole world against China and NK. Israel is enveloped in more of a world war than that.

No, The rising tension between North and South Korea isn't enough to start another world war. Also, it is known that China, North Korea's ally, condemns them for their actions and will not assist them if a full blown conflict arises. On top of that, nobody else has stated that they would be involved one way or another, except for America having naval exercises with SK.
The thing with China is... Even if we do have over a billion soldiers (or close to it, I don't remember the exact figures), if we go to war with the West, we're basically shooting ourselves in the foot, since we rely so much on foreign exports and imports. If an embargo was placed on China, we'd be fucked in a very short time.
So I don't think China would help NK. It's not worth the loss of economic trade.
