Walt Disney World plans to give President Donald Trump a speaking role in its Hall of Presidents attraction, park officials said Sunday. Many people have wondered what role the president would play in the Magic Kingdom attraction since he was elected.

However, Disney says it plans for Trump to speak.
"The same thing that we've done with other presidents, is the same plan we have for President Trump," said Jacquee Wahler, vice president of communications.

I wonder if this is why they delayed the reopening of the attraction from June 29th to late 2017, besides the official reason of technical delays.
How long till it is vandalized/defaced to ~stick it to the man~

why not hack the trump?
I hope it has an electoral college map.
I bet the people who are going to program the Trumpinator bot will have a lot of fun doing so :v:
I understand they're doing this for consistency but holy shit someone is gonna have a field day with that.
That makes sense. When I went in 2005, GWB had a speaking part. In 2009, Pres. Obama had a speech. I assume that's how that attraction works, every sitting president gets a few voice lines.
And, you know, it's not entirely out of character. One of their attractions at EPCOT is co-hosted by Mark Twainbot, and Mark Twain was a pretty terrible man.

I doubt they're gonna make it say something stupid. making disney look like an ass to the rpesident is probably a great way to get blacklisted from an industry.
it's gonna be as clean and non-controversial as humanly possible from both sides of the fence.
edit: when i went there obamas speech was surprisingly apolitical, mostly a wank piece about "preserving the american dream". probably the same for trumpo
not like they have to work hard on the animatronics

can't wait to hear "I moved on her like a bitch." coming from a creepy robot replica of a creepy regular person.

They offered him a speaking role in the first place, but iirc the original controversy was that he was too busy/didn't want to, so his bot would be silent. And I think that meant Obamabot + a few more would also have to be silent so he wouldn't seem out of place. I guess he decided to voice it now.

Jesus their movements are really incredible, if only their faces weren't so stiff
I wonder what the Trump bot will even say.
I imagine they would have a hard time finding some famous Trump quote that's not either incredibly divisive/offensive or complete fucking nonsense.

I remember going to disney as a little kid thinking that this show and the movie ride were actually actors.

Didn't the movie ride actually include actors tho?

Presidents actually record lines for disney.

This means trump needs to create a speech built for disney world. No Showboating or anything like that because disney will slap his shit if he does that.

I think this is only a custom that has gone back to Bush
edit: nope, Clinton was the first.

You know the only thing I could think about watching the video is what this would look like in the post apocalypse :v:
I bet it's gonna be all bragging about how he had the largest audience to witness an inauguration, period and his hands are not small.
surprised he didn't back out of this too. probably because it's the one tradition he thinks that won't hurt his fragile ego.

You must of been really surprised if you were able to justify it so quickly

pretty sure this is what they're going to have the trumpbot do.
i'm sure Futurama could've gotten at least one good gag in with a Trump-head-in-a-jar

Trump-bot: "When you're a star, they'll let you do it. You can do anything. Grab 'em by the pu-TZZZT-CLUNKCLUnkclunk..."
I bet you 20$ when it's completed and Trump more than likely out of office, Disney will use the animatronic to paint him like your average Disney villain. Imagine the animatronic appearing on stage though a cloud of smoke, says "I'm a star!" and then does a song and dance number before the other presidents shoo him away?
I feel like they'll get him to record some lines, and then ditch them in favor of some Alec Baldwin Trump impressions without telling him
