Estimated pre-order data shows that the amount of pre-orders for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in the United States is much lower than expected. According to data from VGChartz.com, the upcoming Call of Duty title has an extremely low number of pre-orders, especially when compared to previous games in the franchise. The PlayStation 4 version of the game remains the most popular, with the Xbox One pre-orders of Infinite Warfare trailing closely behind the PlayStation 4 pre-orders.
It wouldn't shock me if Infinity Ward decided to just sell the COD4 Remaster on it's own to make back the profit loss.
And Infinity would never just sell a remaster, they always want to put out new Cods yearly.
Do you think the numbers would rise when they see the multiplayer gameplay?
Absolutely not. It's going to be basically Halo.
Isn't it kind of obvious that infinite warfare wouldn't have that many pre-orders considering that there is so little information on game play? I mean the game still has 30,000 pre-orders
I'd be surprised if there isnt a spike after E3 when they show actual gameplay.
The game looks terrible from what's been shown, not surprised at all.
Unless it has some sort of bold new feature to the gameplay that isn't just a gimmick for that one level, I don't expect numbers to increase much after its E3 presentation.
Even the mainstream gaming audience is growing bored of CoD by this point, and the scathing opinions of those who have been tired of CoD since the MW2 days are only helping to fuel their opinions. And I'm sure FPS games like the new DOOM and Overwatch are also showing them how fun a non-CoD FPS can be.
Activision is pulling an Activision. They like to push high profile IPs out as much as they can until people simply stop caring about them, and we've finally reached that point with CoD.

Battlefield 1 and CoD:IW aren't comparable. They're two completely different things.
I don't get it. I'm not really a CoD fan by any stretch of the imagination but the Infinite Warfare trailer didn't look too bad, I think that future sci-fi warfare is a cool direction for the franchise to take.
Why the negative reaction? Is the mainstream just finally getting tired of yearly CoD games? I'm not complaining, just kinda perplexed.
Treyach/Black Ops games have always been better then IWs games anyways
Battlefield 1 and CoD:IW aren't comparable. They're two completely different things.
Besides a different setting, that's hardly true. There are plenty of modes in BF that play like COD now
I hope it has 6DoF
I really don't get it, looking at the trailer Infinite Warfare seems to be the most fun CoD that will ever come out
It's the first CoD that's gotten my attention since MW2. Shame it's doing bad. Depending on the amount of space combat there is, I might get it.
Not surprising, but I don't get why everyone dislikes it. It doesn't really look that different from the past two CODs and I actually like the space combat look. I doubt it's going to be any good, but whatever
This gives me hope. Right before a glut of pre-orders rushes in around Autumn to shatter my optimism.
The only reason anyone would even buy this is for the COD 4 Remastered crap, honestly. Shouldn't come as a surprise now that the Battlefield 1 movement had a field day either.
Perhaps, this will change Activisions' mind from continuing venturing further into space.

We havent even seen any gameplay?

There's a large population of CoD players tired of future stuff who want to go back to World War 2. They've been getting progressively louder as each new game has released.
Add the CoD4 remaster being a special edition only bonus and BF1 to the equation and you get perfect conditions for a shitstorm.
Well, infinite warfare sounds like... Honestly, I have no idea what it sounds like...
The theme either sounds like a timeline after bo3s kind of advanced and transhumanistic timeline, or like something riiight behind it, or even the exact same thing.... Actually, I don't really know. The trailer even gave me a "humans vs replicants" kind of vibe, where replicants rebelled against humans or something, but I dont even know tbh.
All I know is that the name sounds awful.
The only thing interesting is the cod4 remaster. If we could go back to those times, and have it be almost exactly like that (or maybe completely exactly like that), that would be great. It was the best cod game, both in sp and mp. But I guess they managed to fuck that up aswell with only making a few maps.
My guess, is that this is going the way of guitar hero or dead space: getting canceled forever, soon, if this keeps up.
Meanwhile, I still have fun with bo2.
The one cod game which is even remotely interesting sells less? Consumer logic ftw.
In any case I'm glad for this, maybe they step up and make a HD remake of cod2?
I wish.
Game looks interesting conceptwise, I suppose. Humans vs Humans on different planets and spaceshiipss.
Reminds me of Shattered Horizon, except AAA level and actually going to have at least more players than what SH had.
I like that they were branching out, but my main issue is that they managed to make space boring, nothing in the trailer stood out even visually, like congrats Infinity Ward, you managed to get stuck a decade back and made even space exploration brown and bloom, or other similar visually terrible environments.
We havent even seen any gameplay?
I never said there was gameplay, I going based on the trailer clearly.
As for the looks, the only thing call of duty has done differently is change the environment, and very minimal visual tweaks to their engine. All of you are saying you're confused at why people hate this one the most, like a user stayed above they managed to make space look boring, in the trailer that supposed to get peoples attention. They have such a great opportunity to take space to a whole new level but knowing infinity ward they're gonna piss it away like they always do. To put more salt in the wound by making you buy a remaster of a game that should be sold on its own.
Im not sure precisely what caused the sudden negative reaction with this particular cod game, but with how they were treating thr franchise, it was going to happen eventually

Battlefield 1 blew everyone's pants off with a "new" concept while IW looked like... every other COD game. It doesn't introduce any interesting gameplay mechanics and still looks like it's due for release in 2009. DICE made a risky gamble and it paid off.

idk what you guys are sperging about
of course there's literally no preorders, we havent even seen gameplay yet
like seriously people just want to see what the game looks like first before buying it, they're not gonna care if its pretty much just CoD in space, that's fine with plenty of people. like seriously wait for the post e3 numbers before playing taps

I still remember when every shooter was a WW2 shooter and I was happy when MW came out and everyone ditched it.
Maybe if one came out with modern technology, we'll get something extremely brutal and gritty that doesn't suck the cocks of the allies. Similar to how Fury portrayed the americans as serious pieces of shit that raped and pillaged the german towns they liberated but the SS were even more despicable do they were still the bad guys. Maybe now video games will be able to get away with it since the industry is much bigger than it was then
