Space Chords is the shit...
But also, I gotta represent for Teal Sound, being a Floridian and all.
I am thinking of trying for Teal on contra after my I'm done with high school (this year).
I love BD's repertoire, but do feel that they may be just a little hyped every year- then again, I may just listen to the haters too much. Besides them, I absolutely love SCV. I was considering trying out for one of them next year (I'm in Cali) but can't play Mello at all this coming year, so my chances are pretty shot.

Why can't you play mello?

Have to play on Bass Trombone for the advanced Jazz Band this year- would screw my chops over having that large of a range. Probably just gonna play contra / sousa.
I love the cavaliers with their show this year. I went to the first DCI show of year that wasn't too far from where I live(It was in Allentown, PA), their show was more interesting than the Cadets and Carolina Crown IMO.

Welcome to the brotherhood. Tuba is where it's at!
I think Blue Devils are more focused on the writing and music aspect of their shows; they aren't very unique in marching style. I think the main reason they always win is because they're very creative, and there's a lot of cool stuff going on. Not only that, but all the particularly musically inclined people tend to go for them. I'm auditioning for trumpet for next season and I have to learn a completly different embochure just so I can keep up with the range that you have to have.

Haha the musically inclined people of a group of people that are all professional grade musicians.
I feel bad for DCI judges, especially when you're grading world class corps. It's pretty much just trying to figure out which corps is less.. perfect. :v:
Which can be hard. I don't see how they judge them.
They judge it based on a tick system, where a thing like a single horn that isn't the same angle as the other costs the corp like a tenth of half a point(not exactly sure what the measurement is).
I have a buddy in Spirit. Says its like the military, constant moving around and there like in the middle of nowhere.

Not all of them. There are some graduating high school dudes where it's their first year of drum corps, like myself. :v:
