So, this morning I was getting a check from my moms checkbook. I saw a check for ~$200 written out to the local Church/Dick House. I wondered what she was buying, so I googled Tithing, which was written in the memo of the check. Tithing is giving a tenth of your paycheck each month to the church. I went on with my day, thinking it was just a one time thing, or at least not very often. Later, I was checking my bank account balance with quicken, and I clicked on my mom's account by accident. So I decided to use the search function, and search for "Tithing". To my suprise, she gives the church over 200 dollars EVERY MONTH. When she gets home, I am going to show her what I found, And I am also going to show my dad, who doesn't know, because he is not a religious person and doesn't know how to use a computer. PICS BELOW! Edit WE ARE HAVING FINANCIAL PROBLEMS! I DON'T WANNA HAVE TO SAY IT 50 TIMES! Also, my parents do not have a college, or any other fund set up for me or my brother. Your mom's a dipshit.
I'm all for giving to good causes but 1878.61 dollars a year to a church is ridiculous.
She donates to a church, therefore she's a dipshit? [editline]asdf[/editline] Do these agrees mean "I agree" or "yes"?
I heard a story in my shop that this old lady paid her church for 40 years. She became too old to work, and had no income. When she got real sick, she needed like 100 dollars for a payment for her apartment.. and the church refused to help her cause she wasn't paying tithing anymore. Fuck that shit.
You should really be giving that money to the church anyway, they deserve it.
Jesus Christ.
You should really be giving that money to the church anyway, they deserve it.
what did you just fucking say
Holy shit man.
Especially since the church isn't taxed. Seriously as a business model, churches are brilliant.
We should show this thread to his mom.
You should really be giving that money to the church anyway, they deserve it.
Not really. Everyone gives a few dollars every Sunday in the little bin they pass around, which will add up. That money could go to better things like paying off bills, college funds, or even a different charity.
Do you own very nice things? If not: Whadda dumbass. If so: Well it's all fair then.
Fucking church.
You should really be giving that money to the church anyway, they deserve it.
If I asked why this would probably end up being a massive debate turning into a shitstorm at about page 3 So I won't
You should really be giving that money to the church anyway, they deserve it.
Oh wow
Oh no, your mom's using her money in a way she wants to use it :ohdear:
Do you own very nice things? If not: Whadda dumbass. If so: Well it's all fair then.
No, we have actually been having some financial problems for the past couple years.
Sounds like she's being manipulated or something to give that much away. Giving away that much per month over that period of time just doesn't seem practical or healthy at all, especially since you mentioned your family has financial problems.
You should really be giving that money to the church anyway, they deserve it.
This man has it right. I mean, how else do you expect them to pay those taxes of thei- oh
200$ thrown out of the window every month. This is just plain stupid.
Now don't get me wrong, most churches are good organizations that take active and helpful steps in communities to better everyone and help all in need, and some charity is nice. But this is way too much, especially considering that churches aren't taxed and most receive a steady income of several hundred every Sunday, not including fund raising events and non-tithing donations.
The most harcore Christians ( who are pretty much dying out here right now )leave their whole fucking heritage to the curch. I know a few instances where the children got nothing.
No, we have actually been having some financial problems for the past couple years.
Well, you should go kill her then. Have fun with it.
[sp]religion thread in disguise[/sp]
Nah, tithing is good.
Your personal information was quite easy to find.

Fuck that shit.
That's a really bad church then. My church would've offered her a thousand before she could ask for a hundred. And a good church doesn't force anyone to tithe, and 10% exactly each month is religious. Surprised as you may be, a good Christian knows religion is bad. If you do the same exact thing week after week, day after day(religion) it's bad. I'm not here to argue whether God is real or not. But my church says Christianity should not be a religion, it should be a relationship(with God). I'm not trying to argue, please don't bite my head off. I'm just saying not all Churches are bad.
Does she set any sort of money away for a college fund for you, or anything? If not, your mom's a dipshit, this could've been college fund.
