Sure not every presentation is about something important, but they have a lot of great talks about stuff like medicine, various inventions and stuff like that. I just don't see a reason for picking them for something like this.

Partly that the speakers can say anything and not be challenged because they're pitching to audiences that aren't typically educated in that area, and that the ideas people pitch are usually never acted on - that's why he goes into the "ideas are amazing! ideas are like currency!" bit.
