Sup fellas.
I'm currently working on a game, and by extension the soundtrack. So far I've only thrown one song together in about 15 minutes just to fill the void of silence whilst I'm testing it, but I'm going to need quite a few more tracks. You can hear that here.. don't judge it too harshly!

The game itself steals a lot of elements from the original X-COM series, with a system whereby you can perform research, buy new equipment, hire new staff, try to maintain relations, etc etc. The difference is that the combat manifests itself as a fairly fast paced sidescrolling/platforming shooter, mostly based on randomly generated spaceships and underground bases. You fight two races of aliens (that give you two different very tech trees for weaponry), sometimes security personal, and the security systems in place (robots and shizz). It's currently nearing alpha state, but there's a lot still to be added. Here's a screenshot (most of the sprites are currently placeholders however).
Basically, I'm reaching out to you guys because I'm looking for a partner to help me create the soundtrack for my game. I'm not currently sure what sort of musical style I'm imagining, so there's a lot of free reign involved. I do intend to run a small kickstarter campaign for the game, so that I can afford the license for the FMOD sound engine I'm using, as well as affording to put it forward on steam greenlight (but it'd most likely be released for free if it ever does get greenlit).
If you're interested I'd like to hear your thoughts, here or by pm. If you have any questions feel free to pm me too.. thanks for any interest!
It sounds great, reminds me a lot of FTL. FTL soundtrack is my indie space game music benchmark nowadays, it's just so great.
I've always wanted to do some soundtrack for a game, but I'm not sure if I'm up to par to make one yet...
The game itself sounds like it could be great fun. I liked the original XCOM (haven't played the new one). Dunno, not really much to say based on the screenshot and little information you gave. It just sounds like it could be a great hit if done right. I wish you luck with it and if you are going to start a kickstarter, I'm going to donate a small sum.
i love this, it's right up my alley
just maybe cut some of the mid out of that padwork, cause its a little piercing
You two just happen to be two of the people I had in mind for this, actually! Yeah this song needs a lot of work, it was just a placeholder really.
@CLung, development's going to take quite some time, so you're welcome to try it out. I can send you the game so far if you need some inspiration, and I can give some more structure to what I need (desert themes for certain planets and whatever).
Well, yeah, why not? Send me a PM :v:
I would love to participate in this
ill play around with some ideas and see what happens
Awesome. I've never done anything like this before (teaming up with composers that is), and I'm not hugely far into the development yet, so we'll have to see how it goes. I'm considering having people submit songs and I'll chose which one's to use, but I'd really rather have one or two partners to work with (which makes things a lot easier in the event that this goes commercial - but that's a very long way off).
If anyone needs anything from me pm me.
Dude that's a really cool track.
I've been wanting to do something kinda ambient lately so it'd be awesome if you could send me the game, I'd love to make some tracks for this.
Sent you something
I like its ambiance, and fat saw fits the song.

Thanks. Although I'm not looking for feedback on the placeholder song, I'm looking for a partner.
Decided to start doing a bit more soundtrack stuff for this and I've started a new track. Not sure if it's ok or I hate it, any thoughts?
