I love art but I don't think I am very good at it, can you give me some tips and pointer on how to improve?

To sketch is to generally capture an image. It may not be a completed, edited image yet. You can sketch something imaginary or sketch a portrait of a person. Sketches can be messy.
But what a sketch is not is an exact replication of an already created image.
So what do you define as a sketch, can you please post some images so I can follow by example? I'll try not to make any more diagrams.
This is one of mine. Notice it's not an exact replica of a banana, but you tell what it is. I just quickly scribbled the shape and tones before doing a quick colour study.
