It was a show that needed a permanent host who could consistently rip the piss out of people, when Amstell left it was on its last legs, sadly

Thank fuck. It went ridiculously downhill after Amstell left. The guest hosts were terrible, and whilst Rhod Gilbert was a decent host, he didn't compare at all to Lamarr or Amstell.
It's sad to see it going but as Noss said, Amstell was by far the best host but my favourite episodes all seem to be the ones hosted by Frankie Boyle

Thing about Rhod Gilbert is he wanted to be a nice, honest show and he was very polite to guests, but that's never been what buzzcocks is about so noone bothered watching it. It's about time it was cancelled tbh
I'm gonna miss this show, been watching it for years. Lamarr will always be my favourite. Whilst him and Amstell took the piss of the guests a lot, Lamarr just had a massive knack for music and music knowledge coming from a DJ background, which just no one was able to match for me. It's a shame he's gone from pretty much every airwave now.
And then Bill Bailey left, leaving only Phil as the only one with a ton of music knowledge.

I thought the one where Richard Ayoade guest hosted was pretty good, solid half hour of him and Noel Fielding giving Ed Sheeran shit.
