So just the last few days suddenly my gamecube when I turn it on all im getting is static from the TV.
I used to have it hooked up to an old CRT never had any problems and it basically never got unhooked, I recently lent it to the local highschool for use for a "classic gaming club" they had since I don't play it a whole bunch. They never said there was an issue but it probably got turned on and off and used a lot more than I usually have.
Now ive moved out to my own apartment and its hooked up to a newer HD TV, I have it plugged in using the adapter for the TV input like I always have (needed to on the CRT), since we dont have cable anyway. It was fine for a little while but now sometimes when I turn it on I get static and sometimes it works. Usually the first time on it works then after that it wont but if I leave it for a bit and come back it will work again. Might just be a coincidence.
Once it went on and most of it worked except the sound.
I tried getting a new adapter to see if maybe that was the problem but ive had no change, both come out with the same static. I guess I'll try replacing the cable next, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows what this problem is and what if the cable change doesnt help either.
I didn't think the gamecube would be outputting static so I'm hoping its a wire problem. But if it isnt what is it and how/where can I get it fixed or the parts to fix it myself?
Alternately if it might just be the TV input parts not working where could I get an AV cable for it? (Im pretty sure gamecube ones had a different shape).
Thanks if anyone can help, I know this section is mostly for PC but I don't know where else to ask :v:

Or you can try EB Games.
If you have an AV cable from either a SNES, N64, or Wii, they all work with the Gamecube and are interchangable.

This is good to know, I don't currently but if they are interchangeable that will make it a lot easier to find asking people for a Wii cable is much easier than asking for a gamecube one now.
So you guys are pretty certain its in the cable?
You're using an RF adapter, right? Something resembling this?

I could see how it may your TV that's not playing nice, since those things are a bit obsolete. My bet would be to try an AV cable. And no, the Wii cable won't work, but the SNES or N64 ones will.
