Poor girl. Boy's family's fault for keeping unsecured firearms about the place where he could access both them and ammunition though. The parent responsible should be charged with manslaughter imo.

If he's 4+ and capable of walking, then yes, he's a child. If below 4 and unable to walk normally, toddler. If <1 year-old and incapable of moving on it's own, it's a baby. That being said, who the fuck leaves something that dangerous out where a kid can get its hands on it?

If someone is murdered because of an unsecured gun the people who actually own those guns really should be going to jail. Especially if you have fucking kids. Owning a gun safe should be required when buying your first gun. Kids fucked for the rest of his life, psych evals forever, probably gonna end up more in a psych-ward than a prison/jail. Hes 11 and more than old enough to know what he did was extremely wrong and fucked up.

Parenting rights should be revoked and child removed from their care.
