Houston ISD officials say a six-year-old boy brought a loaded handgun to Ross Elementary School on Bay at Jensen in northeast Houston. The kindergarten student had the gun in the cafeteria when it fell to the ground and accidentally discharged during the lunch period around 10:20am. Three kindergarten students were either grazed by the bullet, or injured by shrapnel. They were taken to area hospitals. A six-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl were each wounded in the foot. Another six-year-old boy was wounded in the leg. None of the wounds are considered life threatening. Their parents have been notified. Concerned parents have been flocking to the school to check on their children. HISD police are investigating how the child, a six-year-old boy, obtained the gun.
I am 100% for EVERYONE owning at least one firearm for home defense, but keep it secured for fuck's sake. I keep mine next to me, but I don't have a round chambered, and the safety's always on, but I don't have kids. If I did, I'd keep it in a locked box, hidden.
we should create a system where only responsible and mentally stable people can get a hold of a fire arm

JEez defend your home whatever way you want but make sure the defender knows how to handle your defense mechanism.

Guns should be kept in a safe, if you have kids. He probably bought it in to school to show off.
no thank you
guns are tools, and in the wrong hands will cause harm. give them to the right people and they can save lives. you wouldn't give a six year old a power drill either.

Have you people not heard of the gun restriction laws that PREVENT people with those problems from owning a gun? I wish it could be better regulated but things like this always happen.
yeah and my hands are definitely the wrong hands
if I can't trust you with a gun then I can't trust you with any other tool.
