Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, and possibly Garth Brooks are the leading candidates as of now. This may come as a shocker, but no one wants to play Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration. According to an extensive new report from TheWrap, inaugural committee members are struggling to find musicians willing to appear on stage with the president-elect during the January 20th ceremony.
Consequence of Sound Elton John was allegedly first choice, but he unsurprisingly turned the offer down
Ireland must have broken Gareth Brooks if he's really considering to play at Trump's Inauguration. If only Pink Floyd were still together. They could play the whole Wall album. The Show Must Go On and The Flesh would be particularly chilling.
maybe this is why all those musicians died this year
What about Kanye?
Ted Nugent is exactly what I'd imagine at a Trump inauguration.
Kid Rock, Ted Nugent, and possibly Garth Brooks
All of them suck and/or are racist Coors-drinking douchebags, why am I not surprised?
Get Greenday to play American Idiot, that'll show'em
All liberal musicians - go to hell liberals
Get Greenday to play American Idiot, that'll show'em
we know he's a fan
All liberal musicians - go to hell liberals
We're already here, buddy.
I find it so funny that popstars and whatever come and play when a president gets sworn in, seems weird lol
we know he's a fan
I always have to click these to make sure they aren't fake. Some of them are too ridiculous to be true
I find it so funny that popstars and whatever come and play when a president gets sworn in, seems weird lol
It is fucking bizarre to say the least. Surely it'd be best to just... you know, get an army band to play the national anthem?
Holding out for Ted Nugent. He's a piece of shit, sure, but he's the best musician out of the three by a long shot.
new suggestion, get the who to play "who are you?"
Obama had a song written by John Williams for his inauguration. Trump should get Ennio Morricone to write a new piece, and then conduct "Ecstasy of Gold" live.
we know he's a fan
but did he actually see the show or is he just talking about walking in front of a mirror
This is only because most bands/artists want to be popular with their fanbase and don't particularly want to alienate any of them. Not necessarily because they don't agree or disagree with Trump's politics.

Nickelback

You really saying most of the artists and actors opposed Trump to gain even more fame or for just shits and giggles? Surely you jest...
Nickelback
Nickelback is too high class and premium for somebody as low as Trump.

Any reasonably informed person who hasn't subscribed to his cult can see that his "politics" are nothing but an incoherent mess of right-wing buzzwords.

I think it's because they know they'll become a target for harassment for playing at his inauguration.
I think it's because they know they'll become a target for harassment for playing at his inauguration.
Or they just... Don't want to be associated with him. I mean, IIRC Heart told Sarah Palin to stop using Barracuda during a previous election because they didn't want their music to be associated with her politics.

it's just not economically beneficial.
Honestly, he should turn to more obscure artists. Like people that perhaps do different renditions of American Classic music and various patriotic music. I'm sure there is someone that has done a dub step version of "God Bless America". Then no one can complain and most people will be like "Did you see the inauguration?" "That rendition of 'This is your land' was hardcore as fuck."
