• Why do people hate Apple so?

Someone, please explain :/
Because they sell vastly overpriced products and do a fuckingly good job of advertising them to people who don't know any better by claiming that they're world changing magical shit
I for one dont hate apple, even before I got a mac. I mean the main fault with them is their products are far overpriced but they're still, IMO, of good quality, I've honestly never been disappointed by an Apple Product.
Overpriced compared to what? Cheap plastic laptops and phones? Aluminium and glass arent cheaper than plastic. Are there better Android tablets than the Acer Iconia? After using an Apple product people want one because it's easy and pretty, not because they don't know better, they know what they want. [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] Am I the only one who thinks Apple haters just have an automatic bias that says "to be a clever intellect who knows heaps about computers, i must use windows and hate on apple"? Apple sucks for games but other than that, there is nothing wrong with them and since the rest of the market can't get that right, they can charge what they want for quality. [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] I will be using Windows, because Macs are not upgradable and expensive but why does that mean they are shit? I have never heard of a generic consumer who upgrades components in their computer. Its a different market, why can't people accept that?
Because they are suing every competitor just because they want a monopoly, not because they legitimately stole something (which they didn't). And because it's not suprising in the least that they are doing it. They just have a reputation of being the stereotypical evil and greedy company.
I guess it's cause Apple is expensive as hell for cheap computers. They're shipped with an Intel card which can only play a few games. Unlike a 600 dollar PC which comes with the best gaming card out.
people hated apple long before they started suing everyone
A lot of snobs love mac and suck steve's dick, i'm not saying everyone who has one is one, im saying there is a few who believe they own a mac they're gods gift. which isn't the case. Other than that, if you're saying aliminium and glass are obviously going to be pricey, it's not. Tin foil, it's aliminium a lot of things are aliminium, the cans you drink out of, i bet a 24 pack would be able to complete the aliminium on an ipod/pad. I do like apple, i just think that's peoples reasons. It is horribly overpriced but I own some products and i'm happy with them.
First off, tell me where you can get a high end gamer for $600 so i can give them my money. secondly Apple doesn't make computers for gamers. they make computers for consumers who read emails, browse the web and do other mellow activities on their PCs once or twice a week and need something quick and easy to use without all the bells and whistles getting in the way. [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] So you hate the company because of the people who own the products?

If the materials apple uses are so cheap, why don't other companies use that for their products?

A <400$ PC can do that Also, if you buy an iMac just for the screen, you need to be shot.
You do know the Android OS was changed not cause of Apple, but for the consumer? This is why we hate Apple, their fans just find anything to make Apple innocent. Yes they didn't copy anyone, but they act like everyone did.
macs are also made for people who dont want to fuddle around with windows and prefer something more simple
you dont need a 1500$ computer to browse emails and web. A <400$ PC can do that
Or just a small $200 notebook.

Again, you hate a company, not because of the company, but the people who defend it?
macs are also made for people who dont want to fuddle around with windows and prefer something more simple
The thing is Windows is just as simple, especially with Windows 7. Wanna browse the internet? Click your browsers icon on the taskbar. Wanna watch a movie? Pop in your DVD and let it load. Apple isn't the simplest PC out there, Blumpking Pie. [editline]26th August 2011[/editline]
and they only changed it AFTER apple was successful with the design [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] aka copying
Oh my god... dude... just stop. Please.
Oh my god... dude... just stop. Please.
nice argument
I guess I'm just arguing with myself, Apple is the fucking best thing out, we have Android for a reason. Android didn't copy Apple, never have they done that. Android isn't even CLOSELY the same to an iPhone. Well have fun with your bitchfest. Peace. [editline]26th August 2011[/editline]
nice argument
This isn't an argument, this is a discussion. [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] I'm just gonna end it, Apple is alright, it's just over the top expensive for simple things and cheap materials.
Wait. Ignore him, hes obviously trolling. Please, this is very insightful for me
Wait. Ignore him, hes obviously trolling. Please, this is very insightful for me
I'm trolling? Alright I give up, I can't really tell you guys why Apple is just bad.
NO!! not you blumpkin is trolling. [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] Rocko's, you are being very helpful, thankyou [editline]26th August 2011[/editline] What I can summon from this thread is that people don't like Apple because they are expensive and the followers are pretentious? [editline]26th August 2011[/editline]
you dont need a 1500$ computer to browse emails and web. Isn't that half of a computer? Output?
I don't hate Apple, I like some of their products. iPod Touches are really nice, they have a nice clean interface and a very high build quality, I certainly do not regret paying $318 for my 2G touch back in 2008. It's still lasting me to this day, which is nice. Probably the best thing about iOS though is the amount of people developing for it, there is literally an app for almost everything. Some things do annoy me, but it's not like I'll hate Apple because of it. iTunes for Windows sucks a bit, the new magic mouse is heavy and doesn't slide very well on a desk, the scroll thing on the older mouses feels a bit awkward to use, and as someone who has used Windows most of their life, it is hard for me to navigate OSX (but that can be expected when you've built up your experience with a different system). At certain points in time I have been considering purchasing a Macbook Pro, as they have reasonably nice specifications for notebooks, but also because I'd have access to programs exclusive to OS X as well as Windows. They also look really nice too.
Thanks Antdawg. What I'm looking for here is about why people hate Apple, not for reassurance or anything. I know people like Apple, we get them all day at work. I want to know what drives a passionate Apple hater. Thanks guys :)
before iphones came out, android phones looked like overly long nokias http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2007/12/google_android_prototype_in_th/
Way to pick and choose, that prototype was to demo that Android could scale its self to different form factors, they have a touch screen prototype shown aswell if you actually look. Also, because the Mac fanbase consists of the most tech illiterate condescending pretentious hipsters I have ever known.
Why do you hate Apple because of the people who buy it's products Chrishind10? Do you not want to be associated with them or is there something else?
No I do not, and it is not just that, it's Apple's skewed advertising which bothers me too, that "If you don't have an iPhone, you don't have an iPhone" bullshit, No, I don't have an iPhone, I bought an Android phone for £120 which does every single last thing the iPhone does, and more. I don't like the way that Macs are automaticaly considered better at everything, when that is false. Yes there used to be multimedia and editing software which used to be far superior on Mac, but that hasn't been true for years now. I still think OSX is really user unfriendly, everything is hidden away with some obscure key combination, instead of on a context menu where every option available to you is visible. I don't like the massive increase in price for Apple hardware, apparently its to make it seems exclusive and special, nope it just makes your customers look like douches. As the saying goes. "How do you know someone has an iPhone? You dont... They tell you"

I have never heard of a generic consumer who upgrades components in their computer. Its a different market, why can't people accept that?
For reference my current laptop has an alluminium|plastic casing - has a very rigid built quality, has essentially vastly more powerfull hardware than a compareably sized MBP - GPU, disk size, processor, ram and more or less everything with the exception of the screen itself. The battery lasts compareably to a MBP and to top it off it cost me 2/3 the price of the MBP. Perhaps the pricing difference is less severe in non-mainland european countries. But when price difference is roughly 600 USD for worse hardware across the board you tend to really see a different story. There's essentially a reason why Apple has not really gained much market share in Europe in the laptop area. Keep in mind most people don't dislike apple for being apple. They don't even dislike their products very much - potentially with the exception of Itunes and quicktime for windows. What people hate are the prices compared to the performance. Oh and apple's smear based advertising campaigns.

Why do I need to be shot for buying something because of the screen? Why is that such a problem? Isn't that half of a computer? Output?

Unless I'm mistaken Apple uses the exact same screens as dell uses in some of their lines, for cheaper. As to the argument that the Ipad was the first idea of it's kind Anyone care to remember this little thing - announced way before the Ipad with a number of features that are present in the ipad. And already shows the clear divergent design which then the ipad used. Likewise archos had a number of very similar, though smaller devices.
macs are also made for people who dont want to fuddle around with windows and prefer something more simple
You know, you're the kind of person that give Apple customers a bad name. By your logic 90-95% likes to use a cryptic OS. Nice.
