• Buy a Sandybridge build now, or wait for AMD Bulldozer for lower prices?

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a new build, like now. But apparently AMD's Bulldozer processors are coming out in September, and word on the street is that the Sandybridge prices will fall when this happens. So should I wait a bit, or just get it now? Thanks
Hard to say, no-one knows a release date or any performance information at all. Although it's doubtful bulldozer's will be faster than the sandybridges (or even the same peformance) so the price drop will be small if any, it's already £150 for the 2500k, it may drop to £130/£140 or not at all, hardly worth waiting for. I'm currently waiting for the ivybridges/Bulldozers myself, still using a 775 Core 2 duo but it does its job.

On a product that's already great value for money and cheap the price drop will be small if any so you won't be kicking yourself when bulldozers get here.
Intel and AMD both have really different CPUs. Intel with the better performance/core and also higher priced. AMD is targeted towards budget builders, whilst this means that you don't get as much performance compared to the Intel CPUs. I would suggest going for a Sandy Bridge now because from the Wiki article it says that Ivy Bridge is still a long way from hitting the shelves (March 2012). So I don't know if it is a good idea to wait for the new Zambezi chips. I only say this because even though they may be cheaper than Intel chips, they may not be better. TL;DR: Get build now, because Bulldozer may not be worth it, and Ivy Bridge is not coming out soon.l
