• Forgot how to change IP

So I called my ISP months ago and told them I wanted to change my IP (got banned from jailbreak, not the FP one). He was cool and helped me out. He said I needed to go: (this is a rough translation) Start -> Network -> Network and Sharing Center -> Administrate network connections -> Right click LAN connection -> Properties -> Now from heres I should click properties on some of those elements and type in any number from 1 to 10. I remember I had it to set to 1 because if I got banned again, I could type in 2 and I'd get assigned another IP. But, problem is, I can't remember where to type in the number. Can you help? [editline]09:25PM[/editline] Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) I think it has to do something with this fella
TCP/IP version 4's properties.

You don't want TCPv6, you want v4, trust us. And if you're banned from a website, changing that IP won't do anything anyway. That's not the IP that's important. Go to a website like [url]www.whatsmyip.com[/url]. That's the IP that needs to be changed. To do that unplug your modem, and leave it unplugged. I've heard times ranging from 1 min to 24 hours for it to allow you to get a new IP.
Changing your internal IP isn't going to affect your external IP. [editline]09:10PM[/editline] asdf ninjad
Refresh your net connection via the router configuration page. You should get a new IP if you leave it disconnected for several minutes.

If you have a static address then your IP will never change. Typically if you're using cable internet you most likely don't have a dynamic IP, if you're on DSL then you probably do.
Call your ISP only they can change it.
