[editline]30th December 2015[/editline]
I just did it
I always just tie them once and they're good p much for a good while. I just leave them laced when I take my shoes off
I saw a video showing how to tie your shoes like this a couple years ago and have done it ever since. I've completely forgotten how to tie my shoes the traditional way.

Same here, it's just too damn convenient.
this saves you like 5 seconds tops, what's the point?
That IS the point, my seconds are precious.

Assuming you save 5 seconds and tie your shoes once a day, and assuming you will live for about 60 more years or so, this will save you an entire 30.4 hours of your life that could have been spent jacking off 60-80 times.

You gotta be prepared. Those 5 seconds can matter.
Reminds me of a World Fair's knot used in fly fishing. Pain in the ass, and usually terrible for an tension related task, but piss easy to tie.
I wonder how this would fare during vigorous athletic usage.
I use a similar way that uses your thumbs to ensure the laces are looped correctly before you switch them over. It's essentially the same technique and thus the same speed, but more control so you can be more careless with it.
It looks like this, basically:

I tie my shoes on the clock. Make money for tying my boots, I'm okay with that.
tying a shoe once lasts me about half a year
why people actually untie their shoes every time they take them off is beyond me
there is no reason to

boots
Fuck, I'm gonna have to start tying my shoes again. Usually I just leave them tied, but loose enough I can slip my foot in and out because I'm too lazy...

My winter shoes will not come off if I don't untie them.

if you can slip your shoes on and off without untying them then either they're too big for you or you've already destroyed the back
My laces untie themselves like 5 times a day, even if I'm sitting still at a desk.
I wonder if I'm doing anything wrong.
I've been doing this for a while but it really depends what kind of lace you use, it never worked when I wore boots
Also there's this site that's dedicated to shoe laces, some of the techniques can get pretty intense:

My shoes get untied from regular use, usually 2-3 times a day, so this is incredibly useful for me.

I just use a double knot (assuming laces are long enough).
Been using the Ian knot for about 7 years, I swear I've saved like 9 minutes of my life in that time.
That's fucking cool. I bet you would actually pick up chicks if you did that in public.

This is cool and all but I can't imagine that being a very snug fit around your feet. Most of the time when I half-ass tie my shoes like that they feel really loose around my feet and give little to no support to the structure of my shoes, and the knot always seems to fall apart 3 hours later. However when I take my time to actually tie my shoes, I usually end up breaking laces entirely after 3 or 4 months because of pulling too tightly on the strings. I have a serious dilemma and every pair of shoes and laces I've ever tried are like this.
I can't do it... They just keep switching places. Some people just can't adapt to this new world
