So one of my IRL friends, who doesn't go on Facepunch, wants to build a computer, and asked me to help him, so I did. The budget is around $600 US dollars.
The build I came up with is around $630, it shouldn't go much higher. He'll mainly use it for internet, playing Source games and possibly others that aren't too demanding.

I'm hoping this will be fine. Any possible way to make it cheaper without having to downgrade the hardware too much would be excellent.

Well OKAY then, what exactly makes that PSU so much cheaper anyways?

It is the same price but it is modular and a good deal.
Great, so what about the GPU, is Sapphire good or should we go with another manufacture?

Like XFX for their sexy warranties?

I have that exact gpu and it is awesome.
If you bothered to check the wishlist you'd notice that I DID put in the Destroyer.

Yeah fixed that. Also one thing with the destroyer you bring the hard drive cage out the from front you just have to remove the front panel.

Is it really worth going to down to an X2 for? Unless you can unlock the 2 other cores and get it stable, that is.

By that I mean, is the Phenom II/L3 cache even worth it?

Is it worth 100 dollars? yes.

Elaborate, please. How is it better than the Athlon II x4, I thought the L3 cache wasn't that useful for games.

Its better in games that won't utilize 4 cores.
Also, unlocked multiplier means just raising the multiplier for easy CPU speed.
