• PC won't Start Up. [ABIT-KV8 Pro]

So my friend gave me a PC that doesn't work to fix, and I'm not sure what to do at this point. When powered on, all the LED startup indicators turn on like normal, but before anything actually boots onto screen, it shuts off. However, there is a display on the motherboard that shows error codes. The codes go from 8.3, to 9.C, to 9.E as it powers off, and then sticks at 9.F. The problem I'm having is that none of the 9.Letter codes are in the manual, so I'm not too sure what's going on. Google isn't much help either. From what I know, I believe that there's either something wrong with the board or the power supply, but there's no indicators on the supply to tell if there is anything wrong with it. Please help me. :v: This is the motherboard http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=KV8+Pro&fMTYPE=Socket%20754 Here is a video of it starting up. [editline]18th July 2011[/editline] I've tried clearing the CMOS and I checked all the pins on the CPU. I've also pulled the RAM and replaced it. All the connections are tight. Still have no idea, haha.
Do you have an Antec PSU?
No, it's an Orion XP400.
Do you have an Antec PSU?
You really are adamant about those shitty fufufhfyhwhatever capacitors aren't you? [editline]17th July 2011[/editline] Another person had the 8.3 error, he fixed it by swapping the video card, but he didn't get 9.* errors
You really are adamant about those shitty fufufhfyhwhatever capacitors aren't you?
Fuhjyyu* And yes, they ARE that terrible. The reason I thought it was an Antec is because the label looked similar to one of mine, but the video is so bad you can't really tell. OP, try a different PSU.

Disconnect the PSU and open the PSU up to check for any bulging/leaking/exploded capacitors. And your computer doesn't have a PSU in it? Must be powered by a flux capacitor :downs:

The case doesn't have any branding on it, so I'm not sure. I'll upload a picture though. From what I can tell, this computer is old and heavily outdated. Even if it does start up, it won't be able to do much anyway. I'm going to talk to my friend about keeping some parts and upgrading a bunch of it.
I'm not taking the power supply out of this computer to check, but I will open the PSU to check.
??? You can't do one without the other. It's only 8 screws (4 on the back, 4 on the PSU case) and takes like a minute to do.
