With the release of a pair of anti-Trump ads, the Clinton campaign has begun to fight a war on two fronts.
The first video is aimed at disgusted Republicans, and features the GOP's leadership condemning Trump for his politics, his ignorance, his vulgarity and his overall affect.
A second video, released shortly thereafter, is targeted at shy Democrats who might be pondering staying home at the polls (and, possibly, Sanders supporters whom the campaign wants to switch sides, and is hoping to convince that the urgency of defeating Trump means that Sanders supporters should support Clinton as nominee even if they dislike her policies). It's a montage of Trump's most insane, racist, sexist, and authoritarian campaign statements and slurs.
It was pretty obvious that Clinton would just run ads of Trump talking. The general election campaign is officially underway!
I hope Trump's response is every bit as hilariously devastating and ruthless as we've come to expect from him.
That's the one positive thing this general election can give us, a nice show to watch.
i love how a trump attack ad is just a compilation of him running his mouth
All I ask of Hillary is even if she doesn't get the nomination, she keeps running these attack ads.
I've always known Trump was his own attack ad, but seeing the proof is just too good.

So now that trump is the nominee does anything think republcans will switch to independent/democrat to vote against clinton?
https://www.instagram.com/p/BDBS8bYGhWr/
I thought that was satire until I noticed the Instagram username was "realdonaldtrump"
can't wait for his " response "

i hope so
Hahaha. Even if we take these videos at face value it doesn't mean a single fucking thing.
Because guess what? Trump might be bad, but Clinton is worse.
Ahh, not really. I dislike Hilary too but in my view even if Trump becomes president he will fuck it up so hard he won't even serve full time in office.

A trump presidency could not be as damaging as a clinton presidency

All of my republican friends are still voting republican. It's not because they believe in the homophobic, racist, sexist, or anti-intellectual spiel, in fact, they hate that shit, they just really don't want taxes to go up.

Didn't someone here say this once a long time ago? I think I remember someone saying that all it would take to make an ad attacking Trump was to just show clips of him talking due to all the shit he says.
He was so right.
A trump presidency could not be as damaging as a clinton presidency
...yes. Yes it absolutely could be.
Sanders tried to be a gentleman during this campaign, but these two will fight like wild animals, I can already see it.

There is no point arguing with cody. I have tried, others have tried. He has absolutely no respect for reality and doesn't not acknowledge observable, empirical facts.

Sanders' biggest problem was that he had a lack of leader mentality. This is the American presidential election after all, and people want a strong leader, especially in these times.
He really did never recover from getting shoved off his podium by two BLM ladies, and he was going way too soft in debates against Clinton while having all he needed to knock her under the carpet. But he backed off during those debates far too often. He should have put more pressure on Clinton, he didn't even do much, and Clinton still complained after that, he should just have continued pressing her on those things. He should have gone on the offence much earlier in that regard, and convince people that he is actual leader material, as in, that he could really stand up for himself instead of getting shoved off his own speech by a bunch of rude protesters. Maybe if he called Clinton out more for her bullshit and blatant lies, he would have made more of a chance in the primaries.
All trump has to do is play some parts of this recording on TV's across the country

Paint her as a defender of rape, along with the victims of Bill's sexual past, I don't see how clinton could beat trump. Eventually the superdelegates will realize they need to back the electable democrat

Yeah they did. Way back when the primary season first started.

Never saw that ad, you can guarantee ill see it 4 times a day if the dems go with the losing candidate

I'm know like two republicans who actually like Trump. The rest are still deciding if they're going to bite the bullet and vote for Trump in the hope that he won't do all the stuff he's said or just not vote at all. I know quite a few who are already in the latter camp.
...yes. Yes it absolutely could be.
I've been thinking... Trump has never been particularly liked by the Republican party, and has ousted all of their favored candidates. If he fails to rally the party behind him, we could end up with a President that has to fight against BOTH parties- and all of their officials in Congress- to do anything at all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I suspect a Trump presidency could end up being four years of little to no change at all, if both parties choose to gridlock his every move.

What started this idea that a republican controlled congress with a republican president won't pass anything.

He certainly would be less regressive than a Cruz presidency for that reason.
Which is why I really haven't been paying attention to the fear mongering much. Everyone was perfectly willing to see Trump lose by Cruz despite Cruz being much more capable of executing regressive policies.

So basically the same predicament as the Democrats. There'll probably be a record amount of absentees this election.

I've seen pretty much no one on FP lament Cruz dropping out.
I've seen pretty much no one on FP lament Cruz dropping out.
FP doesn't constitute 300 million Americans.
My hope is Trump's campaign returns these attack ads in kind, a dozen times over. Fairly soon, to lower Hillary's support even among democrats enough for Sanders to close the delegate gap in the coming months.
It'll probably never happen, but It's a nice thought at least.
I've seen pretty much no one on FP lament Cruz dropping out.
I did. When Cruz dropped out, that meant there was little chance for a contested convention, but I had faith in Kasich. Cruz is a terrible person who is on par with Trump, but the way this was going lead to a contested convention.
Kasich dropped out of the race and that's when I died.

Kasich's ability to make a case at the contested convention without imploding the party would have been very slim. He basically gained no delegates at all after Ohio barring a couple here and there. No one knew who he was and it would have alienated everyone. It was pretty clear in NY that Kasich got a lot of votes from people simply voting against Trump.
If a contested convention happened it would have been Cruz. Especially since the "deal" that Cruz cut with Kasich over strategic voting involved Kasich conceding winner take all states to Cruz while Cruz conceded Proportional states to Kasich. Kasich got the shit end of the deal out of that (not that it had much hope of doing anything).
Kasich dropped out with less delegates and states carried than Marco Rubio.
A trump presidency could not be as damaging as a clinton presidency
Even if Clinton decided to end her political career and change most of her policies for her second term, nothing she could do would be as bad as a Trump presidency.
