Hello all. I'm looking at building a new computer for around $1000 that should still be strong after a few years. What I have so far of the build is: CD/DVD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151233 Hard Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185 GPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127555 CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 OS - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986 PSU and Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.662146 The only items that I am missing are the motherboard and memory. As for someone with basic computer hardware knowledge, I have no idea what to look for in a motherboard and the memory needed to work with it. I would like space for another 6950 should I decide to get one in the future. I'm open to opinions and suggestions of what I have so far of the build.
You don't need a 2GB 6950 for single monitor gaming* unless you have something like 2560x1440.

*[sp]If your resolution is lower than 1920x1080, get a 560 ti[/sp]
Ah sorry, I forgot to mention my monitor setup. I plan on using 3 monitors, with my center one being 1680x1080 while the sides are both 1280x1024. I believe the 6950 should support all three monitors? I don't plan on doing anything like ATI Eyefinity for them if that helps at all.
yes
