My friend is having various problems with Windows Updates and Office

She tried posting on a few other forums but hasn't gotten help. Facepunch has helped me with issues in the past, so I was hoping you guys could try to help her out.

I'll copy what she posted in a few other places.

Okay, let me list out all the problems.

It will not install updates correctly, meaning it will reboot two times before it says, "failure to update, reverting changes" and allow me to log into my computer. Sometimes it will take 15 minutes per "Configuring Windows, please wait" screen.

Every time I close out of Windows Update after installing a Security update, it says there are updates available, and it's another Security update. wtf?

I did a diagnostic test, and nothing came up as an actual system error, so it's just all stupid windows bullshit.

Edit: I ran a full scan on Microsoft Security Essentials and it found a trojan and two other issues. I promptly removed them. However it still didn't repair my update issues (which might be due to a connectivity problem) or my Microsoft Office 2010 problem. [/quote]

She also said that when restarting her computer, it:

Sounds like he removed some vital windows files causing the computer to recognise that its updates arrent fully there or cant be applied due to missing files.
(Cant really read hijack this logs so im not sure.)

If all else fails a reinstal will work.
