The front-runner in Afghan's presidential election, Abdullah Abdullah, has survived a suicide bomb attack targeted at his convoy in Kabul.
Police told the BBC that six people were killed - including one of Mr Abdullah's body guards - and at least 22 injured when two blasts hit a rally.
He appeared live on television to reassure his supporters that he was unharmed in the attack.
The run-off round of the presidential election takes place next week.
No group has said it carried out the attack but the Taliban have repeatedly threatened to target the poll campaign.
I really wish they would just let democracy happen, why sacrifice your entire life for someone else's interests?
This would have been a fucking catastrophe for Afghanistan. Abdullah may be the first politician to have legitimately and democratically fought his way to become the leader of the country.

Given that Islamic Terrorists are pretty much the poster boys for Fanatics sans Frontieres I wouldn't be too surprised. Fanaticism isn't known for being too broad-minded.

I just wish something could be done about it without more violence, let people live their lives and all that

Not in today's world. May as well expect pigs to fly first. Both sides have to lay down arms for that to happen, and one side or the other won't.
