Though WBC reportedly had a permit to picket for half an hour beginning at 2:00 p.m., they stayed for a mere eight minutes before hastily getting into their cars and driving away when Moore residents began to cross the picket lines. Police intervened to separate the protestors and counter-protestors as the WBC rushed to leave.[/quote]

It's pretty clear that they are doing this for the sake of provocation. If you can see the westboro baptist church, you can rest assured there's a camera pointed at you and making sure you get your ass hauled off to court in case you do something illegal towards them.

Except they weren't forced out of their protest by government intervention. They probably felt threatened by the counter-protestors and left due to that. Plus, like will be said many more times in this thread, you have the right to say what you want, but you don't have the right to be exempt from backlash for saying what you want.

There's not a single case of this happening ever. Even so, if that were the case then why did they run off so quickly? You'd think that they would want to be beat up a little so they could make their lawsuit, correct? These people are sincere in their beliefs.

I was responding to the people counter-protesting, who obviously don't give a rats ass about the concept of free speech. The government, state and federal, has thankfully upheld the WBC's right to protest (bar a few cases).
If these guys came to my town I would just picket across the street from them with signs that say "SATAN LOVES THE WBC"

I'm amazed that someone hasn't shot at them yet, they've caused a lot of grief and pain to those that are hurt. Still, the best way to handle trolls, both online and in real life, is to ignore them, soon they won't have a purpose and will just quit entirely.
