• Inspiron E1505 Freezing at "Start Windows Normally" Screen?

As the title says, I have a laptop that, when booted up, will go to the screen which asks whether you want to start in safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc. and start Windows normally. If I let the timer run out from the 30 seconds in which it says the computer will start automatically, it just completely freezes and I can't do anything about it. The same exact thing happens when I choose to start in safe mode or to start windows normally. I noticed that right before it freezes, the HDD light will blink green once. Now, I've already read the manual to see if there was any indication as to what that one blink might mean, if it means anything at all, but I found nothing on it. So if anyone can give me any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
It sounds like either your HDD is broken or your Windows installation got corrupted, use a program to test your HDD, there are loads on Hirens Boot CD (Google it).
What I think happens is that the computer tries to access the hard drive, but either can't access it or the files on it are corrupted, causing it to go "nah nvm" and do nothing. That's what the blinking light means. It sounds like an HDD failure or a corrupted Windows install to me.
I had the same problem. I just nuked the drive and installed ubuntu
