Hey guys this is my first build so any help will be greatly appreciated. My budget is around £900 but I can go a little bit above that. I'll be playing games like Far Cry 3, Sim City 5, Battlefield 3 and games that come out in the future so I want it to be fairly future proofed. The resolution of my monitor at the moment is 1680 by 1050 but I will be upgrading to full HD in the future. I will be reusing all my hard drives which is currently around 3 TB however I am looking to get an SSD to speed up boot up times. Everything else will be new so please tell me if I'm missing something. I'm not looking for any extras unless somebody can show me a decent monitor in a budget of £150 preferably above 22inch. I live in the UK.
This is what I've currently put together myself, however, I'm not even sure all of this is compatible.

even though im a real newbie when it comes to computer parts, i'd say you really dont need that much RAM unless you do rendering or modeling
Basically yes, 8GB will suffice for gaming. Everything looks fine there OP, perhaps down the RAM to 8GB if you so wish, Windows 7/Windows 8 doesn't matter as they're both really the same OS, albeit 8 has no start menu and has some new things and more optimizations, one could argue such upgrades do not warrant the existence of Windows 8. Anyway moving on you can choose to change the make of that SSD to something like Samsung 840/Pro or Plextor M5/Pro.
CPU: i5-3570k
GPU: 7950
MB: Z77
Those look fine, best you can really get for gaming currently while having a good budget to be honest. Case looks nice and sleek, preference however. Other good cases are the Corsair 200r/300r. PSU is fine, Corsair is a good brand that won't blow up your PC.
Just realised £120 RAM, Scot. How about this OP: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CML8GX3M2A1600C9-Vengeance-1600MHz-Memory/dp/B00569K7LM/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A32KIUPW0AK7S4
OP: Have you checked this site for price comparisons? http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/
£120 on RAM is pretty silly.

Okay I've changed the RAM to 8GB. I looked at the SSDs you recommended and they were a lot more expensive so I left them out. I did look at the corsair 300r originally but I wanted a completely blank looking case. Thanks for the help, I'm guessing this is all compatible? http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/LILu

Indeed it is.
I got mine for £65,22 (£52,87 without taxes), 16 GB Corsair Vengeance @1600 Mhz.
8 GB is indeed enough for gaming, and if you don't need to get more in the foreseeable future you're set.
Although if you do need some in the closer future get more, but only if you really do need it. http://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/1aoquu/psa_upgrade_your_ram_asap/

Yup.

Should be compatible, yes.
Thank you all, ordering now.

Good luck with your build, bro!

The reason those SSDs were more expensive is because they're not terrible quality. OCZ SSDs are pretty much guaranteed to fail.

Just get something like http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120gb-pny-xlr8-25-ssd-sata-iii-6gb-s-sandforce-2241-mlc-flash-read-500mb-s-write-450mb-s-60000-iops- or http://www.scan.co.uk/products/120gb-samsung-840-basic-25-ssd-7mm-3-core-mdx-toggle-nand-read-530mb-s-write-130mb-s-256mb-cache-85k

Sadly it's too late now and the parts should arrive tomorrow.
Is it not possible to send it back or anything like that? If not, no matter it should somewhat suffice as a SSD, better than nothing at least, it's just that there were better options to choose from.
8GB should be enough imo
