I hadn't seen the Xbox One's sold out in any of the stores I went to over the holidays. As a matter of fact, I counted at least 20-25 at one store while they had 0 PS4s.
It doesn't help that the PS4 is nearly double the price of the Xbox One in Brazil.
Isnt that like a shit number considering 360 sold 7 million during its release and like 30-31 million after a couple of years?

Like I said in the other thread awhile ago, 0 PS4's is because Sony is so behind on manufacturing. PS4's are only in stock at my best buy ever 2 weeks or so and they only send in 60-70 PS4's. It's not because they're selling like hotcakes, it's because it's impossible to fucking get one.

The Xbox 360 only sold around 1.5m units by the end of 2005, so the One is doubling that.

But it's the fastest growing market in the world so they are going to spend disproportionately more on the newer hardware, and 600k is a huge number if you think about all possible console sales. Maybe they aren't determining the market, but I wouldn't call Brazil a "small gaming community" If xbox one has a hold in Brazil then that could easily be indicative of them having a lead in Brazil for the future, meaning microsoft will make a lot of money if current trends continue.

• Sony is not maintaining constant stock due to shipping less often, thus stores run out of stock before more come
a whole ton of ice cream cones over time or a big bowl of ice cream every now and again, it's all getting eaten. They're both in demand but there's a huge overflow of XB units in a lot of places because they're shipping out so many

granted they can still be selling like hotcakes when they ARE in, it's still something that has a huge effect on the true numbers both in what people observe (and mock) in-store, and how fluidly the sales are coming in (which prevents you from getting a proper scale for demand)

companies pay for the units and give them away. They earn their money back from the added attention, just like putting out ads and commercials. Sometimes the return on giveaways is worth way more dollar for dollar than plain advertising. Similar to point reward programs, where there's tons of free stuff to potentially get, but you have to spend a ton more at a store to get to that point. It's business you may have spent at a competitor, but now that there's a carrot dangling on a string you'll go out of your way to shop at their store.

Keep in mind that the xb1 is selling in only 13 countries, while the PS4 is sold in 48. It's entirely possible that they have roughly the same manufacturing numbers, but MS is able to stock stores better because they have less stores to stock.

Meanwhile Microsoft are retarded in Sweden, a country that loves the 360. The Xbone won't even come here until a year after the PS4. So not only is the PS4 always sold out, the Xbone isn't even available. :v:

That's because Sony isn't keeping them in stock and has a very low manufacture rate compared to demand while Microsoft is keeping them in overstock. I shit you not, we receive more shipments of Xbox One's than we do PS4. About 4 times as much, actually.

I skipped the last gen, and thus I was waiting to get a cheap PS3 or a secondhand one to play the games I missed, and to my surprise, the PS3'S price managed to increase 5~10% here.
It's no wonder we get "only" 600k s/y.
