My microphone appears to be working when testing but nobody can hear me

Sup peoples. Anyway, I just got a new headset with a mic. I plugged it in and used Realted HD Audio Manager to test it out. It said that the microphone is working fine. I then tried to record my voice but no success - I can't hear myself, or talk to others.
Help me, Facepunch!
