On googling a number of the IPs it comes back to game servers running GMod and/or CSS
Now I'd like to know why its doing this? Or is this standard behavior.
To those that think I have a virus I only just rebuilt my PC from fresh on a new HDD yesterday.
What antivirus are you using

Malawarebytes Pro,
Got it on a deal about a year ago for £12, used it since.
Just thought I'd bump this and update this.
Been in contact with Malwarebytes support about it and they have said that the the IPs are controlled by SoftLayer and are not false positives. Apparently they are in communication with Softlayer to help clean there servers.
However it still doesn't really answer why GMod when I close it makes a lot of outgoing connection attempts to these servers.
Would firewall have anything to do with this?
It CAN be possible that Windows Firewall gave a warning that features of Garry's Mod have been blocked and you haven't noticed it.
What antivirus are you using?
Anyways, go to the main page of Windows Firewall, select on the left-hand sidebar
''Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall'' and check Garry's Mod if it's unchecked.
