Beatdown harcore is sorta a cross-over between hardcore punk and metalcore. Guitars are often tuned down, lyrics are normally shouted, and songs typically have heavy down-tempo [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakdown_%28music%29"]breakdowns[/URL] (This is where you'll see most of your slam dancing), but as opposed to metalcore, overall song structures are more like traditional hardcore songs.
