The troubles were expected, but I guess this is a nice gesture to the community.
Its nice of them to do so, but its kinda stupid giving money to people who haven't had issues? They should of just gave it to those who had reported to them they had issues.

If they actually cared about their customers they would give us $500,000 in real life money but I guess they can't go the extra mile.

Yeah, but very likely a lot of people have been having issues but have been just patiently waiting for them to be fixed upon seeing they've already been reported, so this way is fair to everyone.
Anyone who's been playing GTA:O just now has been having some issues from my understanding, because they were serverside rather than clientside.

A lot of people who had problems didn't report them and there might be people who didn't have problems but did report something, you can't really tell who had problems and who didn't.

500k is a huge wad of money... I'm not even sure if I want it. I personally take quite a bit of fun out of earning money through missions and such.
I'll just waste it all on a really nice apartment.

It's just the floor and location.
The 400k one has beautiful scenery but it's not the worth the price.
So then the higher the apartment number, the higher floor the apartment, it would stand to reason.

Very true, but I feel getting richer is part of the experience of going higher in ranks.

But I have lost like a hundred-grand just by playing with Facepunchers so this is pretty cool
I lost like 50k riding with 7 other FPers on Taggart's Granger.

in most real life cases, it depends on the building, but let's say there's 10 or more apartments on a floor; that building will usually be dividing floors by hundreds, aka 100-199 will be floor 1, 200-299 will be 2, etc, even if it only counts to 111 before the floor ends.
Depending on total number of rooms, it could jump by 5's or 10's just to give bigger feel to the numbers. If there's less than 10 spaces per floor, some buildings will number you starting with 10-19 for floor 1, 20-29 for 2, etc.
tl;dr it's standard for the leading # to be related to floor

I see people stating they had more then 500k on their first character in the comments in the article, are they serious or just upset they can't farm anymore?
And to spend that money on cool shit you still have to level up, so it doesn't really mean much to me.
