• Graphics card not being recognized by motherboard, possibly zapped?

So I recently bought a new graphics card, which when trying to install, I realized my psu doesn't meet my new cards requirements. After taking out the new card, I put in the old card and started up my pc to find that my computer isn't recognizing my graphics card. Was this caused by Windows being confused from the card swap; or did I zap the card? Even though I touched the case and metal before removal, could it be possible that I zapped it? Or even both cards? Hopefully it's just a hardware issue I did when swapping cards, but is there something I'm missing here?
full specs please, including PSU and what the old and new hardware is, and especially what your motherboard model is.

Could have sworn you mentioned something about changing a CPU in the OP originally. Was it working correctly before with the Phenom II x4? The board doesn't support that CPU [url]http://www.jetway.com.tw/jw/motherboard_view.asp?productid=531&proname=M26GT4[/url] or any above 65W. Try resetting the CMOS (just unplug the PSU and take the CMOS battery out, wait a minute or two, put it back) and see if anything has changed. Which is odd, I've never had any problems with the motherboard and I bought it in a combo with the CPU. I got a new PSU for the new graphics card anyway, but I feel pretty stupid right now considering if I zapped it I wouldn't have been able to start up at all.. [editline]1[/editline] I'll reinstall drivers to see if it makes a difference, but thanks anyway. [editline]30th August 2011[/editline] Yep, I guess the new graphics card corrupted the 9500gt's driver, reinstalled and it's working perfectly. Now I just have to replace the PSU and get that new card in.
