Original Banjo team forming to create a Spiritual Successor to Banjo-Tooie

Grant Kirkhope has retweeted it and confirmed it to be real that he is on the team for the music along with @Klungo on twitter who designed the levels for Tooie.
Rareware being reborn, go follow for your childhood to return.

I want to believe...
Mother of god.
In the darkness of shitty games, there is a light.
I'm so happy
Somewhere JonTron creams himself.

I was just about to relate to that; after all he does love his Banjo-Kazooie, and wasn't too happy with Nuts & Bolts, so a true Spiritual Successor to those games would be right up his alley.
Really? There are people who didn't like Nuts & Bolts? I thought that game was a blast. I wish we could get another one like it, even if it isn't Banjo-Kazooie.
Awesome.
If they made a Kickstarter, I'd gladly donate all of my spare money, which isn't a lot, but still.
Banjo Kazooie/Tooie (and Paper Mario) were THE games of my childhood.
I was never a Banjo-Kazooie fan, but it's good to see this happening.
If only we could get back to the basics for some other franchises, like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon.

Nuts and bolts was a pretty fun game, but there was no reason it should have been a Banjo Kazooie game.
By putting Banjo Kazooie on there it was pretty much just a slap to the face to people who wished for banjo threeie.
Please, for the love of Rare, bring back Conker too!

Definitely; I bet that it once was a Banjo Kazooie game, but then Microsoft (Most likely the "game master" that removed their powers at the beginning of the game) forced them to make it into Nuts & Bolts.

Don't fuck this up
Don't get your hopes up, chances are they will somehow screw it up.
banjo tooie sucks
better be more like the first than the second

It was not that bad.
I preferred the first however.

I wouldn't say it sucks but yeah I preferred the first game too.
So Nuts & blops was not the last we would see of B&K?
Awesome!

Pfft no way man, Tooie was bigger, looked sexier, and had a load more content! Banjo Kazooie had better atmosphere, though.
I've never played the Banjo series, but I've heard it was one of the best platforming series ever, so this is cool to hear.

I liked how much darker Tooie was in tone. It was certainly still a game that kids could play but it was really dark in spots.
If they also make a spirtual successor to Jet Force Gemini, I would love them forever,
Banjo Tooie overcomplicated the formula, introduced WAYYY too many moves that were hardly ever used except for extremely specific purposes, got rid of the 100 note collection by bunching them in groups (and thus one of the most fun challenges that existed), while putting in many collectible items that were simply not fun to get or tedious.
it broke the formula from the first game in favor of BETTER MORE STUFF WOOO

Here, JonTron gives a good summary of both the history of Banjo Kazooie and a review of N&B.

If this is true...please make a sequel to Conker's bad fur day :V
At the moment it doesn't actually seem like it has much to do with the original team or is really a serious thing. It seemed more like it was just a random person suggesting they could do it and asking for support with his idea, with a few core members of original team saying yes on twitter.
At least that's what it seems like to me. I might have it all wrong though.
Great to hear. But I think it'll be hard to make a game the scale of Banjo-Tooie without publisher backing.
Has there been any good revivals/sequels to old N64 games? All the ones I can remember were shitty, and whether or not we've had any good ones will determine whether I'm hyped or not.
