(AP) — A man watching a 4-year-old autistic boy for his live-in girlfriend severely beat the child, including pulling three of his teeth out, and left him bleeding and crying overnight, authorities in Pennsylvania alleged Monday. Nicholas Kernechel, 27, of East Greenville was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child and related offenses. ...After the child was injured, Kernechel left the child in his bed "bleeding and crying" and didn't tell the mother until she arrived home the following morning, authorities alleged. She found the boy "asleep on the floor, lying on top of dried blood," authorities said. Defense attorney Patrick McMenamin Jr. on Monday called the child's injuries "an unfortunate accident."
I don't think this guy has much of a case an excuse for himself.
Norristown? Really? You'd expect something like that from out towards Lancaster and past but not in Norristown.
Norristown? Really? You'd expect something like that from out towards Lancaster and past but not in Norristown.
I usually wouldn't even expect this to be PA, I'd expect to hear it from a Jersey kid instead [editline]29th September 2015[/editline] No offense
Defense attorney Patrick McMenamin Jr. on Monday called the child's injuries "an unfortunate accident."
I get that defence attorneys have to defend their client but cant they do that by bargaining the punishment length rather than making themselves and their client look like complete sociopaths.
I get that defence attorneys have to defend their client but cant they do that by bargaining the punishment length rather than making themselves and their client look like complete sociopaths.
It's the same on the other side as well. Start with a sentence of life (or whatevet) and work your way down. In this case, claim the dudes totally innocent and then slowly work your way to wards "weeeeeelll... Maaaaaybeeee he did take his teeth out?"
Norristown? Really? You'd expect something like that from out towards Lancaster and past but not in Norristown.
Are you sure? Norristown is a complete dump while Lancaster's pretty ok
It's up to the prosecution to prove he is guilty, the defense attorneys are just providing something for the prosecution to poke holes in with evidence. We should assume innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, none of this trial by media nonsense that is occurring more and more frequently these days.
I get that you're guilty until proven innocent but that statement is basically saying "he did it, but only because that kid ran in to the pliers."
Are you sure? Norristown is a complete dump while Lancaster's pretty ok
Lancaster is like the final good place before you hit Pennsyltucky.
I get that you're guilty until proven innocent but that statement is basically saying "he did it, but only because that kid ran in to the pliers."
This is true. Clearly this is admitting that one way or another this guy DID pull the teeth out of the poor kid. Unless the attorney is trying to claim that the kid did it themselves and this guy being blamed for it is an "accident".
Lancaster is like the final good place before you hit Pennsyltucky.
Can confirm. Lancaster is like the last bastion of society in Eastern PA.

Philadelphia, with its large population of black people served as a natural deterrent. Harrisburg has too many politicans who know legal jargon and thus confuses the redneck. And as for Pittsburg, the mountain stands as the last true great defense against rednecks; followed by their yinzer accent. The Pitsburgians talk to quickly for even the jargon scrambled redneck to understand. [sp]I know I'm being an asshole.[/sp]

Something I'd expect more out of Nanty-Glo, but PA is full of characters.
There are three places in Pennsylvania that surived the redneck invasion. Only thing missing is a bit about PA Amish territory that take up the rest of the space between.

[sp]I know I'm being an asshole.[/sp]
As someone from Allentown who just moved to Philadelphia for college, I can affirm with 100% certainty that you are correct with this. Haven't seen a single [sp]Confederate Flag[/sp] in Philadelphia, saw them all the time on trucks and in barns in the Lehigh Valley.
Huh, really? I've always heard that it's really rednecky here, but I've never seen confederate flags or hillbillys. At least in Chester County.
I get that you're guilty until proven innocent but that statement is basically saying "he did it, but only because that kid ran in to the pliers."
He mostly said this because as of now, the prosecution hasnt proved anything in a legal sense. He HAS to say stuff like that.
