Pretty awesome, this'll also make it easier for people who never got a chance to play it on the Playstation.

I'd buy it. It's been a long time since I've finished FFVII, and my PS doesn't work anymore, great if it happens. I expect it to be cheap, tho.

Game is overrated but I still enjoyed my playthrough back in 2009

That would be cool but the PC version was pretty bad as far as I know.

But the praise it gets from FF fanboys annoys me, imo, Cloud is one of the worse protagonist I've ever seen in the serie (after Tidus maybe). Still a great game, tons of hours of content. @Durrsly : i don't know, even if it's remastered, I would hardly give more than 15$ or something, you can already emulate it easily... Guess I'll wait and see.

I would buy it but ever since it's release one the PSN store, Ive been trying to play it and so far I've only gotten past the 1st disk and I've lost the will to keep playing. That and I've tried starting it multiple times only to get bored.

The EULA entry and Steam registry has been there for over a year, not new.

No, he really is. People only worship it for the same reason some people worship X and some people worship VI. Because it was their first final fantasy. Simple rose tinted glasses. Either way the PC port was horrible and this will be no improvement over the re release that square did a while ago. The controls suck, the music sucks because it's some lame midi bullshit. Just grab a PSX emulator and shove in your old copy of FF VII, it'll be much better.

FF7 and FF8 have been getting registry updates quite frequently over the past few weeks, I've been wondering when we'd start seeing more evidence.

I'd rather have ff8 than ff7.

I don't really like RPGs. I play Final Fantasy for the music and the art style (pre-FFX) Suikoden 2 however had amazing gameplay, characters, and story. And the art style, although simple 2D, was delightful. FFVII, even when it came out, the characters looked weird to me with q-tip arms.

I dunno why people give FF7 Cloud so much flack, he's pretty dynamic compared to other big hitter's protagonists... Now Cloud from Advent Children on wards... eugh.

I have to say Omnislash is one of the best ultimates I've ever seen in a game though. Plus it has pretty cool music.

It's funny how FFVII originally was a deconstruction of the all-too-common high fantasy RPGs of the time, but has now become synonymous with the modern JRPG stereotype. I blame Square for pandering to the JRPG stereotypes in Advent Children and the other FFVII-related schlock of the last several years.

It'd be pretty great if they could run the PSX version through an emulator (like Steam already does with DosBox in old games such as XCOM) rather than just update the PC version.

Adding to this; I really dislike the sleek mecha cities they've made FF worlds in after FF10, they need to revisit grittier worlds, methinks.

From what I've heard it runs on modern systems but still uses the shitty MIDI soundtrack from the original PC version. Apparently you can mod in the PS1 soundtrack though so there's a workaround.
