I need a laptop for €500,- to €600,- for a network administrator study, here's a list of the stated requirements: - Quad Core CPU (support for visualization) (i5, i7, A8, A10) - 6-8GB RAM - Windows 8.1 64 bits I'd also be happy if CS:GO ran on it. I had an HP laptop with an A10 a couple of weeks ago but I returned it due to some absurd temperatures, I'm currently looking at the "Acer Aspire V5-552-10578G1Taii" and the "Toshiba Satellite S50D-A-10L". Are any of these two good or should I go for a laptop with an i5?
Countries you can order from? Flagdog doesn't work on OP's [editline]2nd August 2014[/editline] But assuming prices are similar, one of [URL="http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/z-series/z50/"]these[/URL] should do you well. I'd recommend the i7 Z50 due to the 1080p screen.
I ordered the Toshiba Satellite L50-B-14M, thanks for the help though. I will see how this one works out, if it doesn't work out I can luckily always get my money back.
They've been a bit iffy lately but nowhere near as bad as acer
Oh well, I can at least hope that it doesn't reach the 120 degrees Celsius after 10 minutes of usage, like my previous HP did directly after I got it. The Toshiba is the best I could find for my own preferences on a budget.
Yeah. They're not bad by any means, just not quite as good as they once were
So, the shop I ordered the Toshiba from sniped the price from 550,- to 650,- when I ordered it. I paid 550,- but it still isn't sent to me[del], would the Acer Aspire E1-572G-74504G50Mnkk be a good choice for the same price if I don't get the Toshiba? It has an i7 instead of an i5, but also an HD 8670M instead of the R7 M260.[/del] [editline].[/editline] nvm, the Acer one only has 4GB of RAM, I guess I have to wait till I hear back from the store. [editline].[/editline] Acer Aspire E1-572G-54208G1TMnkk, same specs as the Toshiba and it has the R7 M265 instead of the R7 M260 + an optical drive. Should there be anything to hold me back from buying the Acer Aspire E1-572G-54208G1TMnkk if I can't get the Toshiba
Acer is a really bad company, and a dual core i7 is barely any better than a dual core i5
Got the Toshiba in today, it works and it doesn't get 120 degrees celcius. It even runs CS:GO!
[QUOTE=Levelog;45592908]They've been a bit iffy lately but nowhere near as bad as acer[/QUOTE] I agree, I don't like toshiba, a lot of their laptops have just fallen apart. Here's a reveiw of the acer: [url]http://www.notebookcheck.com/Test-Acer-Aspire-V5-552G-Notebook.108221.0.html[/url] Dim screen, gets hot, difficult to service, and has a slower APU than the toshiba, all makes for an overall underwhelming and overpriced laptop. in my book. Glad OP is happy with his decision.
