I got a bunch of midi files and an .sf2 file that contains all the instruments from an old gameboy advance game. However, loading the .sf2 file into vlc (my only media player that supports sf2 for midi playback) will give me music, but the instruments will be almost all wrong. Are there any alternatives? tried a shitton of different keyword combinations on google, but nothing gave me anything useful. Or alternatively, is there a good midi sequencer that allows me to change the instruments manually browsing the .sf2 file (so i can manually assign the correct instruments)? I've been looking for that as well but cant find anything.
