So my Dad was making Empanadas for work last night when I get the brilliant idea, "Hey, let's try making some homemade fries", so we start experimenting a bit and it it turned out pretty cool, but most of the fries, while they tasted good, were still limp and stuff.
So next morning I look up basic recipes for homemade fries, and find the secret is about preparing a good batter to dip the potatoes in, so I make a bunch of fries using the batter and it turned out EPIC. It's just like the sort of fries you'd get in a restaurant like Denny's, not the cheap stuff you'd get at McDonald's.
Frying stuff is pretty fun, actually, I even fried some Baby Bella mushrooms and they taste like wet, juicy sex. :P
tl;dr Homemade fries taste better then McFail's fries.
Homemade stuff is always better than stuff that isn't.
I expected either Badage Boys or StephenOrlov.
EDIT: Oh for FUCK's sake, people have been saying it for a month and the first time I say it then boxstorm.
Depends on what you like
the secret to good chips is not battering them JESUS.
it's double cooking them, so you can have chunky ones with a well cooked centre but also a crispy outside.
My dad made homemade fries once and they were shit

:sigh:
I'm not one for homemade fries, unless they are cut thin.
My mommy makes good fries whenever she makes burgers

If you make it correctly at least.
But I always found that steaks you get at good restaurants are better then grilled at home, hamburgers too maybe.

Do tell! I'm keen on improving my technique!
I love homemade fries. I like cutting a potato into chip size form and deep frying them.
Homemade fries can be salted.

Homemade fries can also be dipped in a small variety of sauces.

these are regarded as pretty much some of the best chips in the UK

It's your opinion which didn't need to be shared. All people have different opinions. But doesn't need to be shared. Seriously
OP would have been 800% better if it had pictures.
baking potatoes for fries or slices is easy
use paprika and dashes of any spice off the shelf, experiment a bit
epic fail xD

It always depends on the cut of meat. My dad always made way better shit on the grill at home than any restaraunt. I'm glad he taught me the basic principals of it. The rest is experience. There are some things only a dad can teach.

Take out fries are physically impossible to dip in sauce.

not at all
I made Crisps with some friends a few days ago, A good tip if you want them crispy, throw them in a salad spinner.
I can't even manage to make homemade hashbrowns that dont taste like shitty chips.
Homemade chips are always awesome
Great when absolutely covered in cheese
I wanted to see what these fries looked like.
Also wait, why would you want to eat homemade fries if they taste like epic shit
