My god. Seriously one of the best looking games I've seen recently.
So excited! It looks good. I hope they don't mess it up.
This looks really, really good. [editline]5th August 2015[/editline] Not digging the new voice actress of Faith though. Doesn't feel right.
Why did they get rid of Jules de Jongh?
Should have been a sequel, making it a prequel makes no sense because everyone looks more advanced and it guarantees the story will be a boring "I'm a cunt who doesn't care but now I do" story.
Hope the game being open-world doesn't negatively affect the level design. Part of what made the first game work so well is that there was a set of very defined pathways through each level that all flowed seamlessly. Open-world design doesn't really accommodate for that as well as a level based game would. At any rate, the combat in this looks far better than it was in the first game, so that's a relief.
I'm also starting to get worried about the lack of Solar Fields.
Ok I've never put much attention to this game before, but after seeing this, I've changed my mind.

That is, if the story missions took place in specific buildings or areas of the world map designed more intricately and with a direct sense of direction and flow. While the rest of the world was just a parkour playland designed around accessibility first than any kind of intense platforming.
Sems real fucking Mirrors Edgy, really looking forward to it. Seems a bit weird that Jen Taylor isn't voicing faith this time around, gonna take a little while to get used to that.

Story's been redone with it being set earlier in Faith's life. Edit: Guess not. I thought they've said before that it wasn't a prequel or a sequel, but apparently back in June they said it was a prequel. This definitely won't make sense.
I'm somewhat optimistic, but not hyped After all this is EA we're dealing with.
Pre-Alpha eey
Its a reboot that focusses on Faiths early life as runner. So kinda prequel ish. Still this trailer got me hyped
I'm also starting to get worried about the lack of Solar Fields.
It'll really be a shame if we don't get something in the soundtrack as awesome as this track: Though, if they don't get the soundtrack right, I hope they at least get the gameplay to be fun.
ew those lens flares
Wait! Are the Gamescom footage stuff coming out now? That means we'll be seeing Fallout 4 stuff soon!
Looks like they realized what was lacking in the first game, I love how much faster they made pipe-climbing.
I'm somewhat optimistic, but not hyped After all this is EA we're dealing with.
Could be worse, could be Ubisoft. And I have faith in Dice.
I dig the visuals, but I'm not a fan of Faith's VA.
It looks like they improved a bunch of stuff but I'll withhold my judgement until I actually touch the game. It flows better but it feels it lost the feeling of inertia and weight behind the movements which was one of the reason why the parkour felt good in the first game.
That looks great. I kinda miss how important objects were coloured red, though. I hope Solar Fields does the music again but there's been no mention of them yet, so it doesn't seem very likely.
I've always thought that a Mirrors Edge done properly without being frustrating in sections would be pretty amazing. It looks promising so far but were just going to have to wait and see.
That looks great. I kinda miss how important objects were coloured red, though.
I'm pretty sure that's an option you can disable in the first game, probably the same here.
:hypeisreal: HYPE IS REAL
Good to see gameplay looks the same but better, although them post process effects are such an eyesore. Hope it's possible to turn them off.
new faith's VA sounds like she uses the word 'conformist' as an insult regularly
Mirrors edge was probably one of the funnest games I played in a very long time, and one of the few games that kept me coming back purely for the music and fun game play. I'm really hoping that this prequel will live up to the first game, although I'm a little bit put off by faiths new voice actress, and I'm not sure how well this will fit into the first game story wise, I still got a bit of hype left though
Looks very good, excited That was the first 60fps video I've watched on YouTube that I could tell was 60fps
Not a huge fan of the futuristic approach.
