I'm considering getting a pretty expensive airsoft gun or getting into paintball. I'm not sure which one I want to do. So I decided to ask Facepuch which one is better airsoft or paintball. I'm not a hardcore player and usually play during the summer or on weekends. So tell me guys which one is better?
Airsoft is great because it gives a false sense of realism, plus you get cool shit like EOTech and ACOG sights Paintball is basically good old arcade shoot each other action. It's messy and you welt easily but if you're not a pansy you'll be fine. You can also go plinking with airsoft guns if you're bored. Technically you can with a paintball gun but it's more pricey and you leave obvious marks There isn't a need to be serious with either as well. A lot of local airsoft arenas and paintball arenas are full of people who aren't pro and at least at the airsoft place close to me, very friendly.
Paintball - big balls of pain, fun, cheap. Airsoft - OMG real-like guns, expensive but worth it. I'd prefer going into paintball as I do not find any interest in military or such.
You don't need expensive to have fun in airsoft. Airsoftgi.com
Airsoft is cheaper than Paintball, requires less fuel sources (just bbs and electricity), the projectiles are cheaper and don't expire, you can generally play more often and more casually with more people, the guns look more realistic, the guns can actually have sights, the bbs don't arc much due to hop-up
I've found paintball to be a lot of fun, especially when the games include objectives like taking hold of a fort or "disarming" a bomb.
Airsoft if you just want to do backyard. Paintball if you want to go out and spend money.
the guns look more realistic, the guns can actually have sights, the bbs don't arc much due to hop-up
your talking about speed ball there. Woodsball is like airsoft except you use c02 or HPA or nitrous. and paintballs. and have pods, and have a tank stuck to the end of your gun/ on your back (remote line)

BB's are so much cheaper, and it costs less to get a high-end brand compared to paintball. Tourney paintballers tend to be dicks around here, too.
Airsoft is actually cheaper than paintball for the basics, like a gun and ammo. A box of paint costs like 60 bucks for 2,000 and a canister of 10,000 bb's only costs like 15. For the fun factor I would go with paintball though.
I've found paintball to be a lot of fun, especially when the games include objectives like taking hold of a fort or "disarming" a bomb.
Yes but you can play with objectives in airsoft as well.
It depends on what your friends have got then get that. Air soft is better I regret getting paintball equipment. The balls get tossed in the wind easily standard paint balls are .68 caliber and travel at a average speed of 300-500 feet per second.
Yes but you can play with objectives in airsoft as well.
I know that, but I guess I just find paintball funner. Plus there are almost no airsoft fields in the US, while there are tons of paintball fields.

I play in the woods behind my house mostly.
FUCK MY PUSSY GUYS! http://www.oplionclaws.com/
Well I'm not going to fields and paintball fields can also be used as airsoft fields. Plus it takes a lot more prep. for going paintballing than it does for going airsofting.
It depends on what your friends are into, that would be what you get the most use out of. Cause then you're not sitting around with a paintball gun like an asshole while they play airsoft.
Don't know if anyone's interested but this is the gun I'm looking at http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_44_222&products_id=28373
Manly airsoft- kevlar vests and .357's.
The closest paintball place near me is a dump, a bunch of hicks run it and it smells like shit. They have one indoor place but there are 2 working lights and no fans. I prefer airsoft because it's easy to organize and cheaper.
I wish Australia hadn't banned Airsoft, it looks rad.
I have never tried airsoft. What's it like being shot, compared to regular paintball?
^ I haven't played paintball before, but airsoft generally hurts enough that you'll always either hear or feel the BB (it stings for a second, then it's fine. Higher FPS guns can leave welts at closer ranges, but it still only hurts for a little). Unlike Paintball, airsoft is all Honor System (when you get hit, say so), so don't play if your friends are liars or assholes.
Don't know if anyone's interested but this is the gun I'm looking at http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_44_222&products_id=28373
I've never used Evike, so I can't recommend or warn against it, but the majority of people I've talked to order from AirsoftGI, unless they don't have the model. I'm sure others have their favorites, but I just enjoy AirsoftGI. JG is a great company for starter guns. They work and shoot well. For BBs, I recommend .2s or .23s The heavier the BB is, the less it will be affected by things such as wind, but it will also not go as far.
I have never tried airsoft. What's it like being shot, compared to regular paintball?
It stings for a short bit but it depends where you get hit. Try not to get hit in the windpipe :v:.
both are stupid and for 12 year olds
I have never tried airsoft. What's it like being shot, compared to regular paintball?
Unless the people you're playing are fucking assholes and shoot you at point-blank, you'll barely feel it. Depending on the gun, BBs generally lose their hurt factor at around 100 feet. Take your finger and flick yourself on the cheek as hard as you can, and that's about how much it hurts. If you get hit on the hands/wrists, you'll probably bleed, so it might be a good idea to bring gloves. And don't forget to bring a fucking face mask. Most of the kids I play with just wear shooting glasses, and they get hit in the face a lot. A few of them have had their lips split open, and there's the possibility of getting shot in the ear. Get a cheap paintball mask (I got mine at Walmart) and you'll be good to go. Also, buy your shit from http://shortyusa.com/ (unless you don't live in the US). I've personally ordered over $350 worth of equipment from them, and it's all arrived in perfect condition. Most of my friends have ordered from them, too.
explain.
i stopped enjoying it when i was 12 therefore its stupid and for 12 year olds.
if you got more balls and want more fun go for paint ball guns, they are fun and bad ass. if you want to have some friendly air soft fights here and there, then go with air soft lawl. during the summer my friend and i set up an obstacle course in his front yard and we have a air soft fight, 1 v 1, 2 v 2, the bigger the battle, the better.
With paintballs you don't have to go with the honor system. "I hit you!" "Nuh-uh!" "I hate you! Fuck off."
