Helpline pastor dozes off during suicide call

A suicidal Swedish man seeking solace from a night-time helpline was bitterly disappointed when the pastor he was taking to fell asleep during his call.

The 44-year-old man called emergency services at the Church of Sweden around 2 a.m. on Friday after he said he was feeling psychologically unstable and wanted to kill himself.

After talking to the duty pastor for awhile, the troubled man said he began to get the feeling that he was talking to himself. He added he could hear heavy breathing, but thought the pastor was taking notes.

A man of faith's first place to go for help in such a situation would be the church. Unfortunately the pastor failed this man in his time of need. Thankfully he didn't end up killing himself

If I wanted to kill myself and I heard the suicide hotline guy snoring on the other end of the line I'd probably start laughing and not want to kill myself anymore.
